Let's bust this myth!

What other superfluous body parts should we remove from our babies? Ya know, the ones that could possibly cause them some sort of 'problem' down the road and aren't necessary to continuation of life?

Well..ok..I'll start:

Girls Labia - Oh, the cleaning and they may get a yeast infection
Appendix - What if they get appendicitis as a teen?
Breasts - (Both girls and boys) - breast cancer is a real threat
Finger and toenails - Hangnails are the WORST!
Wisdom Teeth - Some teens and adults end up having to have them removed later...why not take the roots out when they won't remember it?

You've covered all the removals I can think of. What about preemptive tubes in the ears? Quite a few kids need those later anyway, and ear infections are down right miserable.

Gallbladder!

I think that all babies should have elective tonsillectomies. That way they won't have to face them later in life when they can remember the pain.

tongue.

They might get sass-mouthed when they get big, so better to nip this one in the bud early. Plus, remember what happened to that kid who got his tongue frozen to the pole in A Christmas Story? We wouldn't want our babies to have to deal with something like that later in life.

We only really need one kidney.

Maybe only one lung too. It will cut the risk of lung cancer in half.

I haven't really found a use for my tailbone. But it sure hurts if I fall on it. Be gone with it!

Some other body parts which were once considered vestigial and were sometimes removed surgically:
male nipples
pineal gland
eyebrows
clitoris
small toe
We can also live without a spleen. Also all body hair.

The whole nailbed. I got an infected nailbed not long ago. WORST.PAIN.OF.MY.LIFE And I've given birth TWICE. I'd take child birth and be glad over the pain of an infected nailbed. I NEVER take anything stronger than tyelonal, occasionally Motrin when I'm bf'ing and I was BEGGING my dr for the good stuff.

And of course to avoid ingrown toenails, those hurt pretty badly too.

I think they did that several decades ago.
I remember a passage in Cheaper by the Dozen (the book, not the lousy rip-off movie series with Steve Martin) where the entire family had their tonsils removed because they were convinced the procedure would prevent colds, which were a big deal for efficiency expert dad Frank.
