How are you liking the new season so far? There was some interesting dancers so far.
I loved the pow-wow dancer that came on, he was fantastic in his style. His regalia was so beautiful :
I was pretty cool for me to see some dancers from a nearby town.

I really like Danielle Gardner, the contemporary dancer with the scar tissue in her lungs. I also liked the dancer (I can't remember her name!) that danced like she was dancing for her life and answered that she felt "Joyful" when they asked how she was

I kind of feel that Mary is being a little...I don't know...fake? She keeps talking about how the camera loves them, they "look" fantastic..on dancers that really aren't doing that great. I don't know. Maybe we all just have huge expectations after last year .
Either way..::::::

Twice the SYTYCD??! ::jealous::

I really like the Canadian contemporary choreographer that did a few routines for the US show last season. I forget her name, but hopefully she'll be back for Season 7 if she's not too busy up north .

Yeah, it is good to be living in VT. There are some great canadian shows. I prefer my dd to watch the CBC kids shows in the morning over PBS.

Is there any way I can watch this in the US?

I know someone on youtube who is posting all the shows, but he's trying to be, um, covert so they don't get pulled. His account has been suspended before. We don't have cable so it's the only way we can watch it. :

I won't tell who he is, and you can't easily search for it since he leaves off tags. We were very lucky to find him. Just start digging, there is SYTYCD on youtube.

Can we make this a discussion thread about SYTYCD:Can? The top 20 results were TERRIBLE! The judges didn't even give any reason for cutting whatsername, just shrugged their shoulders like it wasn't THEIR doing.

The finals episodes were also really badly edited. We had name-after-name-after-name with face shots of folks getting the news, but we wanted to see them DANCING. There's a B-boy who was featured throughout the auditions and the first final rounds, Paul Kus I think... many interviews, focussing on how he's doing, etc etc. Then he gets cut just like that, with just a "this was the end for Paul Kus" as part of a montage of folks getting cut. WTH? How about showing us how he danced in that round at least? So we have SOME understanding of why he was cut? You don't just focus on someone all along then just whisk them away like that. >

We also didn't get to see enough of that zen-dude from Montreal through the finals. When it came time for the top 20, I realized I had absolutely NO IDEA whether he was actually any good at doing other styles and choreography. In fact... I was clueless about almost everyone in the top 20. We had a home-town boy in the running all the way up to the top 20 runoff, and he was cut -- but we really couldn't tell why, we hadn't seen him do any of the choreography!

And the judging is just terrible... love fests and 'you guys are the greatest dancers EVER'.. how about some critiques on technique? That's what the dancers would love to get, in fact. Don't just shrug your shoulders with no comment...

Here's hoping the quality of the show improves to what the dancers deserve.
