I need a fast birthday gift

I was just talking to my mom about DD2's birthday this weekend (my baby isn't so much a baby anymore and she casually mentioned hers being tomorrow. I totally forgot! I made an ass out of myself by admitting I had forgotten instead of claiming I did.

Anyhow, what's a good quick gift? It doesn't have to be ready tomorrow since I will be seeing her on Sunday but I'd like it to be done fast.

No purses. She has given up on her "hobo bag" ways. My brothers recently left home so she is home alone for the first time in 28ish years. We do live in a winter state and while I don't mind knitting ahead of the seasons I'd like to not if possible.

a neck warmer would be nice, they can be quick, don't use a ton of yarn and are handy for fall. I don't have a great pattern to recomend but there are oodles on ravelry

That's not a bad idea! She rides a motorcycle and I'm sure she'll continue in the fall.

I know some adults who would completely appreciate a little toy or stuffed animal, and others who just aren't into cute little cuddly things. If she's a "child at heart" she might enjoy getting a little toy, of the kind normally designated "for children."

I posted a baby turtle pattern a while ago on this board (DD2 created it)- that or something similar can be a cute gift if she's into that kind of thing.

Any other ideas? She sold her bike two days ago so that idea is out. She's not into stuffed animals so that one wouldn't work...though it would for my grandma whos birthday is tomorrow.

what about a bag for grocery shopping. I'm making my mom one for christmas. The one I want to make for her is very ornate, but you could do a simple one fairly quickly. And there's always washclothes...
