ack!! my freezer was off...

We had a big storm and my freezer turned off. I think it was off for a good 8 hrs or so. I did not open the freezer during that time and my ebm is in there!! I turned it back on and noticed that a little bit of the bags have a small amt of liquid dethawed around the edges of the bag - less than 1 oz.

Do I have to toss my entire stash? you think it is safe? everythinhg I have read says no refreezing.. but this never fully dethawed any thoughts? It is over 120oz in my stash

As long as the milk is somewhat slushy or even more frozen, you are totally in the clear to refreeze. It has happened to me when I was shipping milk. Fed ex got it there a day late, it wasn't completely thawed, but it was slushy. We checked with everyone we could think of and all said it was a-ok to refreeze.

Yup, refreeze that stash

CathMac has that same great post here: http://www.mothering.com/discussions...ed+milk&page=2 (post 5) - you aren't alone in your worries. Hopefully this will help!
