remind me- mucus vs boody show

Last night I finally saw some real changes down there as a result of strong contactions... which have started pettering out again. I moved alot of Mucus... and there was the smallest brown tinge in some of it.

So what counts as bloody show?
How much lag time is there from mucus plug movement to birth? I understand it can still be considerable but hoping it is a sign of dilation?

Is bloody show a more sure sign of impending labor?

That being said, I had a membrane sweep monday so I suspect it wasn't technically bloody show.

Talk it up for me if you can, I'm burning through my grace period here at 41+3... MD will let me go to 43 if all is healthy but the clock is still ticking.

Also DH wants to know if sex is stil ok which I'm pretty sure it is ...anyone?

(Btw I'm eating pineapple like it is going out of style and upped my EPO dose in the last couple of days, dtd, all that)

I've only ever had bloody show once, with my 3rd, and yes labor started an hour before. But with my first two I never had any bloody show. I just know it was thick and had a little bit of blood. I think its still ok to dtd. I wouldn't see why it would be bad.

It totally could have been from the membrane sweep. Sorry I'm not a whole lot of help. I know we take everything for what it could be. I feel like I have so many BH's that take my breath away, I'm not going to remember what it really feels like to have contractions.

With DS2 I had 2 blobs of bloody mucus the day before birth. With this baby I had white mucus then bloody mucus that changed to bloody-egg white type discharge that continued for about 2 days along with random contractions that increased in intensity. It is safe to have sex as long as your water has not broken.
