I have a 2.5 year old, a 1 year old and pg with #3.

I have been thinking about homeschooling my children. Just a little overwhelmed with the research, and now feel like I need to get started with doing something formal with my oldest girl NOW?

Do I need to start doing something formal with her now? I read to her, trying to learn the alphabet, which letter makes what sound, numbers, birds, animals, she paints, plays, etc...

Today I drove by a sign at a private school that said, "enrolling now, preschool 2-5 years". I felt like, woah! am I denying her something? I am not going to send her to any preschool, but have already had the question posed to me from someone, and now that sign.

Any advice on how to start to homeschool your children, and do I need to register somewhere when she turns a certain age to let the state know that I am teaching her at home? I live in California.

Thanks.
