But no, I would not.
We did and it was a nightmare for us. She could not be crated, she could not be left alone for even a moment. She could not even be in a different room. She had to go *everywhere* WITH us including sitting in the car while I shopped for groceries. Even then, she started to chew seatbelts and such.
She chewed through baby gates, destroyed a metal crate and caused other damage in our house. I'm a SAHM too and thought it would be fine. But there are some occasions where you NEED to leave a dog alone and we just couldn't. We worked with a dog-shrink for some time with no luck and she ended up having to be PTS (there were other issues including aggression). Funnily enough when we were researching the breed and talking to several breeders and owners, everyone said "You can never just have one!" and we did notice that everyone seemed to have two. NOW we know they had two for a reason... after all of our troubles, everyone pointed out that SA is a breed trait. Gee thanks for telling us that before.
Now we know not to even consider a dog with pre-existing issues. With small children, I can't dedicate the time and effort a dog like that needs.
