Someone suggested I go to the ER and ask to see the OB on call - I tried this and the OB told me he couldnt see me. I went to a walk in clinic, and the guy said he could take a look but would have no idea what he would be seeing or looking for and couldnt give me a referrel because he wasnt my family doc. OMG I am so done with the system..lol

The bleeding seems to have subsided..but I took a gander (funny word) and it still looks a little raw. Ive been trying the honey...*sigh*

Is there any way you could "get" a family doctor? Sorry you're still having problems I don't remember if you mentioned sitz baths, but comfrey is supposed to be a wonderful healing agent for the perineal area and is included in most of the herbal sitz baths I've seen. http://www.inhishands.com/html/orderherbs.html has some at a reasonal price. Hope you heal soon. Take care.

the run around is terribly annoying. seriously, for a while there, i actually thought people were trying to punish me for UCing. LOL i don't think it's actually true, but seriously, can't anyone just have a gander?

ah well, i hope it's going well for you, healing up and all of that.

Not sure where in BC you are, but there is a good walk in clinic in downtown Van...who also do maternity care. My friend has delivered three babies with the family practice doctor and speaks highly of her:

Also, have you thought about looking for a lay or retired midwife? They will often help women out without charging them a great deal or anything at all. Again, checking out your tribal area on MDC and asking for recs might help

Just wanted to add that in BC any GP, even if it is not your family doctor, can refer you to a specialist. You can go to any walk in clinic to get a referral to an OB.

Pushing from a bowel movement shouldn't cause your vagina to bleed unless it's a hemeroid or something. I would take a week of doing regular sitz baths, some colace to keep your stool very very soft so you don't have to strain so much and apply tucks or some other witch hazel pads to your sore areas. If it doesn't at least improve a little in a week or two I'd bite the bullet and seen a GYN for possible repairs. Anal fissures really hurt and they take a long time to heal but those things are both safe for breastfeeding and should greatly relieve your discomfort. It's probably also going to be what a Dr would suggest first as treatment. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

I'm not sure about healthcare in BC, but in the states you can pretty much call up an OB and if they are taking new patients you can get an appointment. If you tell them what's going on.. they usually get you in sooner.. even if it's just one of their nurses. I hope you can find someone! Take a trip to the states if you have to! lol.. Seriously though.. I hope you get better!
