mason jar for freezer jam?

Hi,

I was wondering if mason jars are safe in the freezer? Can I use a regular mason jar for freezer or is there a special type of glass jar made for freezer?
I am trying to avoid plastics. Thanks!

I use regular mason jars in the freezer. I think, however, that only the straight-necked ones are technically freezer-safe. It is usually marked on the box.
