Does it matter what the chicken eats?

I'm trying to reintroduce eggs to my 4 year old dd. She has many allergies; if the chicken eats what my dd is allergic to, will she be allergic to the eggs? Anyone with experience with this? We're buying pastured, organic eggs...but still, the chickens are fed grains.

It's a possibility.
If you're trialing them, can you find any that aren't fed any grains to make sure it's the eggs you're testing, and not the grains?

For some of the very sensitive children here, it does matter. Same with beef, pork, lamb. Most are fed GMO-corn and other GMO-grain. We find the GMO is the variable to which we have reactions. Organic corn is ok, GMO-corn is not.

It is very hard to find GMO-free local chickens, unless they are only pastured in a warm region. Organic grain, on a small scale is 4x the cost to feed the animals, due to shipping charges, from my experience.

For frozen meat, one could order online. But, it'd be hard to ship eggs, I believe.

I think most people aren't sensitive to what the cattle or the chicken eat. And I've heard that chicken eggs are less affected than, say, eating the chicken itself. But it's a trial-and-error thing.

The egg trial continued to day with her second egg this morning. So far, so good. We're lucky in that we have a vendor at the farmers market who does the whole egg-mobile thing (moving the chickens from pasture to pasture, following the cows) so right now the chickens are eating bugs and greens. When they are given grains, it is organic, GMO free.

Now I'm wondering if she'll show an allergic response this winter when the chickens are indoors eating more grain. Time will tell.

fyi: she's allergic to organic eggs. My dd is sensitive to a lot of different foods and cannot tolerate grains at all.
