Allergy Onset as a Toddler? Many questions

Hi mamas, I have finally given in to the thought that ds (still BF, no vax, try to feed him a healthy diet w/low sugar, whole/fresh foods, etc.) might have recently developed an allergy. For the past 3-4 weeks, every single bowel movement has been off. They've almost all been mushy, and they alternate between yellow (almost like when he was a baby and EBF), green, and sometimes brownish.

We've had no dietary changes. The only thing I can think of that he's been eating more of is a frozen berry mix and dried cranberries (I can see the cranberries coming back out whole, and I can tell when he's eaten frozen berries). But he's eaten those things in the past, I just don't remember them affecting his poo like this. (Also, it's not like he eats them in large quantities, but he's been on a kick - so every morning and/or evening he might have 1/3 cup of frozen berries and a handful of cranberries. Nothing crazy.)

I've never dealt with allergies, so I don't know what to do first. Is there a list of common allergens for "later onset" allergies? Is there an elimination diet I should do, or should I just go get him tested and save myself the trouble? (btw - our health insurance is a joke, so I'm sure allergy testing won't be covered, is it ridiculously expensive? Is it a blood draw?)

Might I be overreacting - could it be 3-4 weeks of strange poo caused by something else? He has been cutting molars - he has one left that he's been working on for 2 weeks, the others came through in the 4 wks prior. I held out hope that extra drool was causing the poo, but really - for that long? It's not like the kid is wearing a bib, if he's generating extra saliva he's doing a good job of keeping it in his mouth.
And I don't think he's sick - he hasn't been acting differently.

I'm just very concerned - if it is something we're eating regularly, I want to cut it out NOW, so he's not hurting. I feel so bad for him

Please help me! Thank you!

With no rash or sleep problems (beside those obviously attributable to teething), I would guess that he has a stomach bug. I would really up the probiotics, make sure he is getting a minimum of 15 billion cfus a day.

Thank you for the response. I went and got some Kefir - is there another good way to give probiotics?

There are capsules. Yogurt of some form.
Enzymes in the form of real sauerkraut (like Bubbies) or other fermented foods are good too.

That sounds like how our sals intolerance started... berries and dried fruit are really high in salicylates, and too many and we caused ourselves all kinds of issues. You might try backing off the quantity of berries he's eating and see if that helps (sals is a bucket tolerance, so some is OK, but too much causes issues).

I think kefir's a great idea too, it can't hurt! And teething can definitely screw up poop for a long time, DD had really acidic saliva for about 3 months when she cut her two year molars.
