reading coconut's birth story. i loved the account of baking her birth torte in what became early labor. i spent the day before my night labor crocheting tiny baby hats. a friend of mine cleaned all the knobs on her oven.

so what did you do?

I washed dishes - all of them. I usually I do short cleaning jobs. I was in super cleaning mode and was in labor and didn't even know it. I was on the phone for a while to my sister complaing about how I thought I was never goiing to have my baby and how I would be pregnant forever. And I was conplaining about the braxton hicks I had had all day. Had the baby hours from that.

I shopped online! And it's a good thing. A lot of last minute things I ended up really needing showed up on his birthday or the day after.

Am I the only one who intends to rest? Lol. Immediately after feeling anything I'm going to rest and conserve my energy.

I went grocery shopping and changed my bedding in early (not sure yet it was "it") labor this time. Assigned DH to do all sorts of basic tidying & pulling out supplies, cause at 36+4 on our 3rd baby we had nothing out yet.

However, that's just the icing on the cake. The real nesting for me is always getting my work done/things reorganized in the house. My body appears to know when to have this done by, or else I only go into labor once enough of it is done? Every pg I have sorted through ALL of my books (we have a LOT of books). 1st pg I was finishing up my last work loose ends in early labor (38+4 w). 2nd pg I got everything done and had ONE lovely day to relax b/f labor. This time I worked my butt off to finish up (mostly) with work the week before DD was born (36+4 w). My body knew, but my mind didn't!

It would be nice to have a labor long enough to do that

I'll probably fold all the clean laundry that's been stacking up. It's the least I could do while DH tidies up the rest of the house. I don't think he knows it yet, but he'll be nesting, too
