What is your baby like?

In a few weeks, this thread should have LOTS of posts with the rest of the DDC due right around the corner.! :

Our little guy was born on the 7th and is 16 days old today and he has grown SO much. So far, he has been the easiest baby BY FAR out of my 4 kiddos. He is just so mellow, calm and (knock on wood) EASY! I am still sort of waiting for him to "wake up" and become a high needs baby... all three of our girls were very high needs as infants, I carried them constantly, they screamed in the car seat, etc.

I am finding that I put our son down a lot more often and he is just fine with it... will sleep with all the noise in our house and is a wonderful baby even at night. I have not been stressed out by him once since he was born. By the time our third baby was 2 weeks old, I was begging DH to have a vasectomy! We obviously didn't go through with that.

Here are a few recent photos of our little guy doing what he does best:

What is your baby like and have you been able to bond with your baby/ies?

very stubborn from the looks of it I can't wait to participate in this thread.

He is adorable and looks so comfy and happy.
My first was just like that. So mellow and content. He continued like that and really except from the standard toddler tantrums he still is an extremely happy easy going kid. Nothing faces him. So, they do exist.

is it just me or do all babies look alike? My dh saw a pic of coconut's baby while i was reading her story and thought it was his babe! and now looking at your pics i think they all kinda look the same...Anyway, Kingsley is now 13 days old and really changing everyday. He's totally mellow and never cries (hope i didn't just jinx myself). All he really does is eat, sleep and poop.
I just started putting him in his cloth diapers. He loves to be wrapped. but what he loves most is to sleep.

I too have a super calm, mellow baby. She only cries if I wait too long to feed her or someone puts their cold hands on her. She's very alert and loves to sit on my lap and look around. She's watching the computer monitor as I type this.. She's slept at night since she was born. Yes, she wakes up to eat, but goes right back down. It actually seems that she'll just keep sleeping so long as it's dark and we're laying down with her. This is DH's first newborn and he loves it! He said that we should have a few more and I reminded him that they're not all this easy.. Ha ha

It is tempting to set her down because she's so okay with it. However, I firmly believe that all babies need to be held non-stop for the 3 months at least. I make a strong point to always have her in a carrier or at least have my 5 year old rubbing her belly. Touch is so important for neuological development, whether a baby demands it or not. I have a sister that was a really low needs baby and spent way too much time alone. She ended up being a really HIGH needs person in life.. I want to make sure that my sweet baby always stays so relaxed and emotionally healthy.

And yes, all babies do look a like. Every time I open a newborn pic my son asks if that's his sister..

My little Julius is so calm compared to my dd. She woke up like crazy in the night and he is such a good sleeper. I really deserve this!
He hates to be wrapped up some days, but other days he will sleep for hours in a carrier. I am still not finding out his patterns yet.

I am loving cloth diapering him. But we are using prefolds for now with wool covers. Ombrooklyn, what type of diaper is that on your babe? The pattern is so cute.

We are still dealing with a little jaundice. I think that it is partly coloring since dh is native american.
Also, my baby gets crustys around his eyes sometimes. Not anything too nasty, but just lots of gook. I spray so much that he is getting breast milk in his eyes all the time. Is this normal to still get stuff around the eyes? He is 4 weeks. We don't have an appointment with the ped for another weeks.

This little guy will be 4 weeks old tomorrow and he is so laid back!!! He is constantly being poked and prodded, tickled and hugged. He thinks it's normal to have "this little piggy" done on you 20x a day, to have your head randomly brushed, and have giggling & screaming voices interrupting your sleep. He nurses fabulously, sleeps well, and really cries very little.

He started out at 7lb 2 oz (37 weeks), made it back up to 7lb by 7 days, and 8lb 2 oz by his due date. I'll weigh him tomorrow (every Tuesday), to see how much he has gained!

Here is Griffin:

You have the most STUNNING children, they are beautiful! :

Bluebird, they're called Muttagins or Mutts. So far they are my favorite. We opted to do almost all pockets and some fitteds. Mutts are fitted.

Thanks!!! The first picture was pre-hair cuts - I cut their hair myself and I let it get a little scraggly while I was pregnant

ombrooklyn - Griffin can't quite fit into small diapers yet - I'm so looking forward to the big cloth butt! You've given me the CD itch, though Maybe I'll try one today and see how it fits ... OH! And we have the same brown sheets as you!!!

Genomics, I agree...your kids are precious!!

Om, Kings is stinkin' adorable in that diaper

Handsome Jackie cracks me up! He loves when I massage his head with my fingertips. It makes him sleepy. Just now he gave me Blue Steel in the middle of one such rub. I know I should stop kissing him because he's rocking some baby acne, but I'm not about to stop breathing, either.

He coos and squeaks and smiles and digs just staring at the wall or out the window. I feel like Nikita always wanted interaction and titties. So I have high hopes that he'll be, as DB calls him, Relaxin' Jackson. I think with two kids under two, he really doesn't have a choice. He's been sleeping through toddler cries since the womb and is currently acclimating to DD peering into his face and shrieking! Poor little manface.

My DS2 is another one thats way laid back. As long as he's in my arms hes pretty happy 80-90% of the time - about once a day for an hour or two he gets fussy and can't decide if he wants to sleep or eat or whatever, but aside from that hes really really great. Possibly better than my first DS1 and I didn't think that'd be possible!! And yes, all newborns look alike, definetly!!

I guess I need to get some newer ones up!!

I am almost scared to write this as I am afraid I'll jinx myself.

He has been so easy! :

Granted, he's only a week old today but by now DD was fussing for hours every night and barely sleeping. In fact, she only slept over 1-1/2 hours straight about the time she reached 2!
She, at 32 months, still wakes up for snuggles or whimpering and crying MORE than him at night. I had been joking that he would sleep through before she ever would and I'm thinking I might have been right.

He nurses, snuggles, looks around, is so happy. At night he wakes up to nurse and then we snuggle back up.

I really didn't believe babies could be this way. I'm hoping it sticks. Everyone tells me I deserve a "good" sleeper after these last few years- I agree!

I think we all seem to have easy babes in this thread because otherwise we wouldn't have time to be posting. We finally got a few pics up of little ol' neglected #2:

The pictures with the siblings are just killing me, they are so adorable!!!!!!

So far little Ky is dream we have figured out most of his signals, and except for hating to be changed he is really low key. He also is a champion nurser, he took right too it, I swear I have more issues with positions then he does

He is such a sweet good baby I wonder when we might see the down side I am so glad to have him!

Yup that is me sporting my uber cheap, please dear gawd fit me, biggest size Target carries nursing bra. I was desperate to find something that would fit without having to go to the mall. It mostly fits and since I have only left the house three times so far it at least makes me look like I am trying I can't wait to go get a decent black bra

Is that the bra without an underwire? I tried that one on yesterday and my boobs didn't even pretend to be held upright I opted for an underwire one with soft cups and that cotton/lycra material (no satin or lace). I'm impressed at Target's nursing bras now, though - much more variety than a few years ago

I'm scared to write it for fear that I will jinx myself, but I too have one of those types of babies that you all speak of. She loves to sleep and nurse and that is about all. Her loud brothers don't seem to phase her. She's a week old today and I'm hoping her personality stays like this! She even lets me dress her up while she sleeps:
