My first O after bc, is this normal?

I've been on bc since I was 14, which is about 17 years ago, so I am not used to the feeling of ovulating. I'm having intense cramping in both ovary areas (both sides of my abdomen about where the ovaries are) and an amazing amount of what seems to be ew discharge. It definitely looks like ew, but its coming it out in huge clumps, one such was the size of a baby carrot. The pain also seems to be more intense when I use the restroom?
Is my body just REALLY happy to be ovulating? Will this calm down after a few cycles or is this something I can look forward to every time?
I'm kind of embarrassed to be so unfamiliar with my own body.

Hopefully it will calm down. Time will tell.

I get crampy and globby around O too (used to wonder if AF was coming), so you're not too terribly far from the norm. Your body's probably just getting back in the swing of things and it will likely even out a bit.

It should calm down. But you don't want it to go away entirely since a super clear signal like that would be awesome for both trying to and trying not to conceive.
