Weigh ins for Little Ones and how are we doing?

Henrietta was weighed today and she has gone from 8lb 3.5oz to 8lb 15.5oz in 9 days.

She was not supposed to get weighed today but MW popped in to see us early as one of the swabs they took after her birth <cos the wates were gone for 25 hours and two mins before birth> came back as growing summat nasty and they wanted the baby checked on, MW says she is fine, no signs of infection or anything, she is eating a lot, pooping a lot, sleeping a bit, well not sleeping like a baby who is either in my arms or DH arms or in a wrap.

how are all the others babies doing?
how are all the Mommies doing?

so far im fine, still a bit sore, walking is horribe as i am having muscle pain in one hip, and my back is stil a bit nacked but other wise im ok, mind i am getting fed up of the ahem......dreams, i dont feel i can relax enought to DTD yet as im so terrified of getting PG again. he is getting booked for a Vasectomy as soon as we can. that could take months to be complete, i dunno what to do untill then. i dont trust condoms, i already have a BC fail baby, do not want another. ah well off to do some crochet while henrietta is having a snooze on daddys chest.

My DS saw the ped last wed and was up to 7# 11oz (from a birth weight of 6# 9.4oz!!), and had grown a half inch (up to 20")!! He was 12 days old at the time - so I was/am pretty happy with that. We don't go back again till the 8th but I'm pretty sure he's growing just great He's such a wonderful baby - mostly just sleeps & eats & poops Occasionally wakes up and looks around, but mostly if he's awake hes eating and if hes not eating, then he's asleep

As for me.. I'm feeling pretty great too. I had very, very little soreness overall, really about 1000% less sore this time around than after my first. I feel like I'm pretty much back to myself already, aside from all the weight I have to loose! Though, even on that front I'm feeling pretty good - down to 170ish now from 197 the day I gave birth Still have 25-30# to go to be back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but the first 25 or so sure have been easy and fast this time around! Of course, nursing both DS2 AND DS1 occasionally probably helps big time!!

jack is gaining, but not very quickly. he was 7lbs 10oz at birth, dropped to 7lbs 1oz on the second day. Regained his birthweight by day 11, but is now only 8lbs 5oz (he'll be a month tomorrow).

We have thrush though, he has been very fussy on the breast and I think that is why. Hopefully once treated he will start to gain a little bit faster.

Sullivan was 8 lbs 10 ozs at birth. He was 8 lbs 8 ozs at 2 days and my milk came in later that day. Today at 6 days old he was 9 lbs even! My milk is making him grow great!!

Olivine was born at 7lb8oz, then went down to 7lb7oz on day 3, then was up to 8lb5oz by day 7.. I have a feeling that she's over 9lbs now (2 weeks old), we'll know for sure tomorrow. She's growing like a weed!

I feel great! I'm all healed up and my hips and pelvis are pretty much back to normal! Yay!

Tyler was 10.2 at birth and was 12.6 today at 1 month appt he is a porker! loves his booby milk

Santiago is a little piggy. I swear I see him getting chunkier by the moment. He was 7lb3oz at birth, 7lb5oz on day 3, and today I weighed him (2 weeks today) on my postage scale, and he was 9lb3oz!! Has gained 2 lbs exactly in 2 weeks. That seems like a lot to me! I don't think he ever lost anything. I am really surprised because ds1 lost 11oz from birth to our 3 day check up...

I'm feeling almost normal, well, besides not sleeping much, but that's to be expected I suppose. Lochia is almost gone, hemorrhoids are almost gone, lots of milk. Sore neck and back from poor nursing posture - working on that!

Wish my ds could have stayed home longer - he went back to work when my little guy was only 1 week, but such is life. My ds1 is starting to get used to things and not acting as crazy as he was at first. Thank goodness!

Great growing, babies!!!:

Griffin is 4 weeks old tomorrow. I'm weighing him tomorrow - I'm a nutty kookoo who will only weigh him once a week and not a day earlier

He was born at 7 lb 2oz
@ 7 days he was 7 lb
@ 14 days he was 7 lb 4 oz
@ 21 days he was 8 lb 2 oz
@ 4 weeks ...

we shall see where this story continues ...

Adelaide was 7.15 at birth and then 7.6 the next day and then 8.2 at her two week WBV.

I feel well physically and challenged emotionally (tandem nursing issues).

Health Visitor came today and insisted on weighing Henrietta again, she had to do a check anyway so we did weigh her, shes gone from 8lb 15.5oz at 1oam yesterday to 9lb 1oz at 11am today. and she had had a huge blow out this morning too.

we weighed Evie too, who is 24lb 15oz at 23 months two weeks.

Henrietta is on the 75%ile, Evie is on the 25%ile, where she has always been so thats OK.

Wow, these babies are growing nicely!

Abigail was 7lbs 5 ozs at birth and 6lbs 15ozs at her 24 hour check. She had her first pedi appointment yesterday and was 7lbs 1.5ozs after a massive blowout (on daddy!) in the waiting room right before the appointment. She loves to nurse so I'm guessing she'll be back up to (or even passed) her birth weight by the time we have our 2 week check.

Tor was 9 lbs 8.6oz at birth. He was 8lbs 13oz when we left the hospital yesterday. He has some jaundice, my milk came in early this morning, and we're off to see the ped in about 10 minutes so I'll see where he is now...

... he's back up to 9lbs 3oz! I'm surprised, but then, all he's done today is nurse and sleep so I guess that's that.

Me- physically pretty good. The undercarriage is sore but my left hip has recovered. I've managed to poo without distress, don't really "need" the peri bottle to pee comfy, but am very VERY aware of swelling and general pain in the area. Nothing like my 4th degree tear recovery though. Bleeding/clots come and go though. My lochia was almost gone when I left the hospital on Sunday, but it's back big time now, as are the clots. I know it means I'm doing too much, but what can I do? And my left nipple is still bleeding from that dang fissure... ugh!

The house is a mess and I'm hard into the emotional roller coaster of postpartum hormones. DH is doing a great job (I've spent most of the day sitting on the bed with Tor while he has the girls downstairs) but we have very different ideas about how "clean" things should be. So he thinks "a bit messy" and I think "garbage bag exploded". And right now even he feels things are "messy". So just going downstairs to use the toilet leaves me in tears over the mess and bleeding from the exertion.

It'll get better soon, I know, but this is the next hard part...

I am doing well physically, after many babies the only soreness I get after birth if ligaments between my legs adjusting back to nonpregnancy. Emotionally I have cried every day since last Sunday. I just feel up and down emotionally. Finnian is a good nurser overall, not a huge gainer. Born at 7lbs 10oz, he was down to 7lbs 1oz, lowest and day 12 he is 7lbs 7oz.

8lbs. 8oz. when born

8lbs. 1 oz. @ 2 days

8lbs. 4.5oz. @ 3 days

8lbs. 15oz. today @ 8 days!

So he gained 10oz. in 5 days. Not too shabby.

Emma was weighed today, at a week post birth, and she regained her birth weight. She's up about an ounce.

7 lbs 12 oz at birth
7 lbs 2 oz at discharge on day 2
6 lbs 11 oz at ped on day 3 - that plus a skyrocketing bili bought us a trip to the hospital
7 lbs 2 oz at second discharge on day 5
7 lbs 7 oz at ped on day 6

I think he'll be back to birth weight by Thursday.

Update: DS2 is now up to 8# 12.5 oz!! And 21" long! How freaking awesome!!

On the bad news front.. I'm pretty positive he/we have thrush So, my mom just mixed up some thieves oil & olive oil and I put that on my nipples & in his mouth, and hopefully that'll help... we have an appt to see the ped tommorrow at 3:20. I just hope he's feeling at least a little better tonight than he was last night!

My moms friend said I likely have a yeast infection as well... but I feel fine. Should I be treating me down there too?? If so... how??

We fought thrush with DD for months and never had a genital yeast infection.
You should be treating your nipples and baby- we used Gentian Violet (on her mouth and my nipples) , vinegar/water (I think 1tbsp to 8oz H2O) nipple wash, washing all bras/diapers in vinegar and hot water.
APNO- all purpose nipple ointment (by prescription)
Some people swear by Grapefruit Seed Extract but I never used it.

And eventually I did need a 5 week course of Diflucan. But it was very stubborn.

Here is the thread that helped me so much to really get rid of it:

Good luck mama!
