I am considering purchasing the Family Herbalist program offered through Vintage Remedies, the curriculum written and taught by Jessie Hawkins, the founder of V.R. I already have the Vintage Remedies book and I love it and would like to learn more.

My questions are these:
1. As a complete herbal remedy novice I have no idea how to spot a good vs. a mediocre herbalism program. There is no national board for herbalists so it isn't like a school or training for herbalists can be accredited, at least not that I have found. How do you know if you are choosing a program wisely?
2. Is $435 a lot for an online course? It seems reasonable to me considering it is self-paced and takes a year to complete going at a steady pace.
3. Do any of you have experience with J. Hawkins and Vintage Remedies and can offer a review? Like I said before I love her books and she seems quite knowledgeable so I will probably go ahead and take the plunge and order the material.
4. Are there any other online herbalism programs that are worth looking at? Recommendations are very welcome.
