when did your preemie sit up?

I am just wondering when your baby started to sit up on his/her own, crawl, etc. My son is just about 6 1/2 months old now, was born at 34 weeks. He can roll from his belly to his back, but not completely the other way. He can hold himself up in a pushup type position very, very well and squirms around the crib. No real baby babble, crawling or sitting up on his own yet.

my 34wker was about 8m when she could sit, 10 months when she could get into a sitting position.

My 30 weeker started sitting up at 9 months actual (7 adjusted). He didn't crawl until he was about 10.5 months actual, but he started walking at 13 months.

My 31 weeker is just starting to sit well without support. He's 9 months (7 adjusted). He began sitting for a few seconds at a time or with limited support about a month ago. He's also just beginning to crawl. Little by little, he is catching up from his adjusted age to his actual age...I believe that by about 2 it will be hard to tell he was an early bird.

My 32-weeker had/has gross motor delays which became apparent when he sat up late. He was rolling over "on time", but didn't sit up unassisted until 8 months adjusted. We started PT at 9 months adjusted, and he still didn't crawl until 13 mo. adj. or walk until 22 mo. adj. Frustrating!

My 32 weeker (32 by lmp, 34 when OB changed the edd after he began talking about inducing before christmas) sat up unassisted or supported around 6.5 months. He was born 11/17/08 and rolling very early on New Years Eve. He pulls up, occasionally stands without pulling up on anything but still isn't walking.

DD was born at 34 weeks and sat up around 7 months. I've just looked back at some photos and she is still surrounded by cushions so I guess she was pretty wobbly still.

Crawling was about 11 months and walking nearly 19 months. She was (is) a bit of a perfectionist though so with both there was no practice, she never walked round the furniture just set off one day. Within a couple of weeks she was rejecting the pushchair and wanted to walk

One thing I notice with her and DS was that although he did these things a lot earlier he did most of them around the same weight as DD.

My boys, born at 33 wks 3 days have only been sitting up completely unsupported for about the past couple of weeks (since about 8 mos adjusted). They also started crawling around the same time.

They've already gotten alot more versatile in their movements, kneeling, or kneeling with one foot on the ground, and acting like they're thinking about trying to pull up.

With them, I wonder if it's partly to do with their size, since they're already kind of on the big side for their age. I keep seeing these babies that look itty bitty next to them doing all that stuff, but the babies are older than them, and it seems like they have alot less weight to try to lift and lower centers of gravity.

Anyway, my guys seem to be coming along, even though they're not going to be winning any records.

I think they're still well within the normal range.

I had to go back and look at pictures to confirm, but sitting unassisted started at 10 months actual, 7.5 adjusted.

Sitting up for one DD was 9 mont actual (7 mon adjusted), she walked at 14 months actual, and the other DD was 10.5 months actual (8.5 months adjusted), she walked at 18 months actual. My later sitter continues to have gross motor delays at age 4, but is on track for everything else.

They were born just shy of 32 weeks.

My 27 wkr is just now sitting on her own. She can't get there by herself, but if we sit her up she can maintain the position. She is 11.5 months, 8.5 adjusted. She is crawling in a "commando" style and gets around very well, but we are still working on her getting into a sitting position on her own.

My not quite 33 weeker started at 7 months actual. He started walking at a year actual. However, to me, he's just a little early on the physical aspects of things. My eldest was only 4 months old when he started CRAWLING and 7 months when he started walking. It was scary! lol And my 2nd was the opposite-didn't walk till almost 2 years and wasn't sitting until almost a year. All are completely normal

My 34-weeker started sitting unassisted at 6 months (4.5 months adjusted) but is nowhere near getting into a sitting position or crawling. He is almost 8 months actual and pulling up a bit and taking real steps when we hold his hands. Maybe he'll walk before crawling like his dad did.
