Nursing Bra question

Okay, so...I'm in an area that doesn't have any maternity stores, and the bras I like are an hour away.

So...trying to stock up before birth...

I went from an A to a B during the pregnancy. Should I get C nursing bras and assume I'll get that much bigger when the milk comes in? I am fitting decently into the B bras, but with nursing pads (the thick washable ones I like) I am thinking I couldn't grow much.

Thoughts/advice? I know everyone's different and every pregnancy is different. Last time I was in the same sized bra from 3 months pregnant until I weaned at 2 1/2 yrs.

I go from C cup to a G or something - and that's AFTER engorgement, so I can't really imagine fitting in the same bra throughout nursing!

Maybe you could get a couple of sizes, and return what you don't use after 2 - 3 weeks?

I wish that was an option, but an hour each way with a newborn sounds awful...and they have a 30 day return policy, arg.

Hmm...maybe I should just guess C?

OP, I'm in a similar situation. I've heard there are some maternity stores in Anchorage, but I live 7 hours north of there. And to be quite honest, I'm not even sure the road is open all winter. So I can buy at thrift stores (which really freaks me out for some reason), sometimes Sears has a few, and one other store carries one brand, one style in stock.

I did find that Blue Canoe bras are flexible in the cup size. So hopefully they'll get me through engorgement. Something in that style might help you too.

Maybe a sleep bra/nursing tank style (like LLL's soft sleep bra or Target's Gillian O'Malley nursing tanks) for the engorgement/early weeks and then get the "real" bras when your cup size is more stable?

this is what I did. I got two tanks and a soft bra that it was ok if the size wasn't perfect. I'll get better bras after things have settled down a bit
