Diaper prep question

Thread Starter
So I've just started prepping my diapers and I realize I need to know... to get them prepped, do I need to wash in a particular temp water? Do they need soap through every wash? Do they need to go through a full wash AND dry every time, or just multiple washes?

Someone talk me through prepping, please.

How you prep depends on the type of diaper you're prepping. If it has natural fibers (cotton, bamboo, hemp), it needs to be washed several times in hot water or boiled. In order to get the best absorbency, you need to get the natural oils out of the fabric. I would wash a few times and dry at least once.

If they're diapers that don't have natural fibers, just a normal wash, rinse, dry should work.

There is some good information here: http://www.momsmilkboutique.com/imag...ructions-1.pdf

what type of diapers some will just need a wash to seal any stiching and clean any manafacture residue others like unbleached diapers and especially prefolds will need multiple hot washes to get rid of the natural oils in the fabric that will cause repelling a few dryer cycles can help fluff them up but multiple drying cycles are not necessary.
