I can find all kinds of cute patchwork girls dress patterns and such, but nothing for little boys. I am sewing all my kids' clothes until I run out of fabric, and a lot of the scraps I have are only big enough for patchwork, or for appliques, I have been making a lot of appliques as well as using contrasting fabric for binding, etc. What else can I use these scraps for in the process of sewing boyish childrens' clothing?

I'd say just start sewing patches together, like a quilt, I would do just rows of squares.
Then use the peice of patchwork fabric like you would a solid peice to make clothes, shirt/pants etc.
I've made patchwork hats that way, and those pants w/a strip made of patches running up the side.

There are also patchy pants--basically a pair of pants with a row of patches down the sides. I really love the look.

I saw that patchwork type fabric this summer too in a high end children boutique. It was a little shortall and super cute. I would say if you have pants that are outgrown (too short) you could add a cuff to them and then use iron on fusing to make a cute applique type shape and iron them and applique around edges to the knees. I did this with an overall that DS had outgrown lenght wise but I added the cuff and dinosuar appliques and it was super cute.
