i did it because i don't like the thought of it being out there on paper that we don't vax BUT now i'm nervous that since we're on CHP+ they're going to come after me and insist that we vax or they'll take insurance away...can they do that? we can't afford private insurance and we've had medicaid/CHP+ for 3 years andit's never been a problem but i want to be sure.

ETA-okay, now i've totally confused myself but i think opting out of the registry means no one can see if we did or not in which case we're safe from being targeted because we didn't vax. i'm going to call the docs office in the am talk to them but i'd still love some input from you guys.

From what I understand state assistance is not tied to vax status. They push it like it is but there is no law saying you have to vax. You might want to search for some of the WIC posts that are frequent on this board. Many of those people are on medicare/medicaid.

The registry is seperate from medicaid.

My kids have been on medicaid since day one. We don't have vax and I've never had any issues.

good to hear. i didn't think there'd be a problem and we've never been harassed in the three years but i had a moment of paranoia! it's pretty awesome though, our ped (who is by no means someone we'd pick, we're limited by state insurance options) never ever says a word when we decline vax. the NP we saw yesterday said it was fine and asked if i wanted her 2 cents and i said no, she was fine with that!
