what would you do?

My son's elementary school is going to be giving "free" flu mist this year. Would you send your child that day? Pick them up early? Or does them up good on Vit C for a couple days?

Oh we are not going to be signing the the consent form and WILL take a sharpie and mark it NO across the paper

I wouldn't send my son, just to be on the safe side.

lol, I"d take a sharpie and write on his arms NO SHOTS! and tape a sign to his front and back that says, give me a shot and my mom will sue.

Oops, just saw its the mist... ugh doesn't that shed?

Anyway, the sign on his shirt may still apply, and make sure he knows nothing goes in his nose.

or... keep him home.

If it happens in our school, we will keep the kids at home that day and maybe even the second day.

I don't stress too much about shedding because even if my kid were to get the flu it wouldn't be the end of the world (remember when the flu was just the flu?).

But, I do worry about vaccines being given without my permission. I wouldn't send a child to school on "shot day" until they are old enough, mature enough, and self assured enough to stand up for themselves if some teacher or nurse just tried to herd them along into getting the shot despite my lack of consent.

So if this is your 5yo I would be keeping him home. I wouldn't worry so much about high schoolers if I thought they would be comfortable standing up for themselves.
