Via emergency crash c-section due to cord prolapse. 7 pounds 7 ounches and 29 inches tall. Not a fun process. Started labor at home after waters were brokenand thought it would finish there. DIdn't happen.
Baby is doing good now but it was touch and go for a while, while i was waking up from being incubated and put under. Once I was out they got him out in less than a minute.
The ER doctor was amazing and we spent 45 min together today where he talked me through everything that happened after I was knocked out.
He came out blue and not breathing. Scary and with an apgar of only 4. The ER doc is like a genious who graduated college at 18 and is probably a lot younger than me now with a medical degree and heading the infant trauma unit.

Havent even started to process what happened. But I am happy he is alive and doing as well as he is. I will share some oictures later when I am coherent enough to upload etc.

ETA: They took me off the morphine so I feel a little more coherent but also more pain. Guess it is the price to pay.

Oh my goodness! I'm so glad your babe is here, and safe, and doing well... and so glad you had such a sensitive dr who took the time to help you process this. What a story you have to share with your babe!

Be gentle on yourself and take the time you need to heal physically, emotionally, and spiritually. You've been through a whilrwind and deserve a relaxing and peaceful babymoon to snuggle and enjoy your little one! You are an amazing, strong, and beautiful mother and you have lots of people here who are thinking of you. If you ever need to vent or just want to talk, let me know!

How scary I'm sorry you had to go through that. Cord prolapse is so rare and so terrifying.

Awwwwww... he's such a little man! And the sibling kiss is adorable!

I know it stinks when they transition pain meds, but make sure the staff help you stay on top of the pain. And if you have any homeopathic arnica around, start taking that too... it can help with the swelling/bruising. You're looking great in the picture btw!
