Weird...maybe I'm onto something here

So, I posted a thread about suspecting celiac disease, but not having the money for a diagnosis.

Well, it occured to me today that I sort of went GF by accident. I eat a lot of GF things anyway to avoid wheat and today I did not have any gluten and my nasal allergies are dramatically better. Last weekend when I had a lot of spelt my nasal allergies were unbearably bad.

Can severe nasal allergies be a symptom of being gluten intolerant? And if so, how fast do the symptoms clear up when the offender leaves the diet?

absolutely, and it's different for every person. I would hope that with compliance the symptoms would decrease dramatically after a week or two....some dont' take that long and some can go a full 4-6 weeks feeling residual affects. I think that's more rare for physical symptoms though and more about the neurological/behavioral side.

I am a big, "you don't need a diagnosis....if you feel better off gluten you know it's bad for you" person. Yay for figuring it out!

I have different issues with gluten and different symptoms, but I felt better in a day and a half.
