I need a wrap that....

I'm not so new to this, but I am flummoxed!

For my 1st, we used Bummis. No problems. They didn't hold up for DS2 (that's fine- they did their job and I used them hard!) and a friend has a diaper business, so for DS2, I've been using some Thirsties. So far, so good.

UNTIL- about 2-3 weeks ago. I switched to the next size up, but instead of fitting better, they fit TERRIBLE. I got some of our old Bummis out to see if they were better and NO. The smaller size was definately too small. It was time to go up, but wow. Trouble.

They (both) are velcro fastening near the middle (since they are the next size up, that is logical- they will be bigger, so near the middle gets them the smallest. But, then they start to "wing out" (the front pannel droops down and the back pannel on the sides come up so that each leg has a triangle of front pannel over them... The central-ness of the velcro is kind of like a hinge and the rest of the diaper kind of flops about around it).

What the heck?

Is something going on that I am not thinking about? And recs for diaper covers that are soft, comfy, PUL with WIDE velcro that a chub-chub baby would work? What about snaps?

I don't really want to do the snappy thing (I like the tuck-and-go of the little pocket in front of the bummis and thirsties as well).

Crap. No pun intended.

Huh. Imse Vimse Bumpy and Mother-ease Rikki wraps have wider velcro than Thirsties or Bummis, and I like snaps better anyway so the Bummis snap wrap might be a good choice. Or a Bummis original maybe?

Imse Vimse as in-between sizes & the IV softwraps are really bulletproof. IV organic cotton are my faves, no poop leaks ever, no rash or red marks on legs.

Nikky's Covers.
Awesome, Bulletproof, comparably priced to the newer models pulling up to the starting line in the last couple of years. available in breathable cotton, poly and wool. Gussets for leak containment.
Just a great cover -- still, after more than 20 years on the market.

I always recommend that people buy at least one for night time. They were the only cover that contained my two pee monster boys all night.
