wool skirts?

Does anyone know where I can find nice wool skirts? I like longer skirts (say ankle length). Also, I have a long stride, and it drives me nuts when a skirt limits the length of my stride. I always end up freezing in winter with my cotton skirts that the breeze blows through, but I'm sure that a wool skirt would make all the difference. (obviously the less expensive the better, but I'd rather save up and pay 150 for a skirt that will last ten years than 20 for one that will last 3 months)

Also, the Garnet Hill catalog generally carries the Eileen Fisher line which in the past has had nice jersey-type wool skirts. Pricey, but nice, and wool never wears out. You might look at J. Jill as well, although I personally haven't ordered from them.

I am a huge wool skirt fan. My long wool skirts (black) are about 10 years old, if not more, but they remain very usable.

check ebay for j.jill stuff and eileen fisher - you can sometimes find good prices there!

I've made a couple of very nice wool skirts out of large wool knit sweaters I've found at garage sales. For $.50 and a little work, I've got a warm cabled skirt!

I would try your local thrift stores first. I have found really nice wool skirts at thrift stores for fairly cheap.

zech, I don't have any pics.. but basically I did this: Skirt Tutorial I have plans to make a wrap skirt with vertical sections of different sweaters I've picked up, but I found a couple of really big sweaters and I couldn't resist an easy, comfortable skirt!

you could TOTALLY get 20 years out of a wool skirt. I bought 3 wool pencil-skirts for work at least 12 years ago and they look fine for work.
