exemption form for NC

My son has just started Kindergarten and he goes to the Ped next week (wed) for his physical (we were out of town most of the summer and just couldn't get an appt before now). I want to have the religious exemption on file at the school before we go to the ped. I had one saved on my old computer that crashed about a month ago, and was wondering if anyone has one they can post a link to. I would really appreciate it!

There is not a "form" in NC. You can check out PAVE's site for exemption info at http://www.vaccineeducation.org/.

I just submitted a one-liner that said

"In accordance with North Carolina General Statutes, XXX is exempt from receiving vaccinations due to religious beliefs"

Signed
Dated

I never had a problem. You do not have to explain your genuine and personally held religious beliefs.

Thank you so much. Where in NC do you live (if that is not too personal, I understand if it is). That sounds super easy, I will turn it in tomorrow....my stomach flip flops every time I think about it. I am also just REALLY ready for his Kindergarten physical to be over (next wednesday). He hasn't been to the doc since his 4 year old check in Dec 07 and it is the same practice that pretty much told me I was going to kill my baby and was an unfit mother for not vaccinating her (she was 2 months as the time, 21 months now and has only had ONE cold)

I live in the Charlotte area. Any public school is required by law to take a written religious exemption. I don't know if I would go to that pediatrician. Any doctor that treats their patients that way is out of line. You do not have to give any exemption to a doctor. If you need referrals for doctors that don't treat their patients like scum for choosing what is best for their family post in the Find Your Tribe forum. We go to an awesome doctor in the area that respects a parent's decision to vax, not vax, partially vax, delay, whatever.

I haven't taken my daughter back to them, she now sees a family doctor, who still pressures me about vaccinating her, but she's not really too mean about it; I found her through the "find your tribe" section, and if she is the best there is in Wilmington, well that sucks. But anyways, I haven't taken my son back there since his 4 year well visit (which was the same day and time that my daughter had her 2 month visit) I am taking him to a different ped (there are dozens in the practice) so we'll see if she takes it any better. If she treats me like the last one, then we're OUT!!!

We see a family doc in Wilmington that doesn't ever pressure to vaccinate. I'm sending you a private message, and I would be glad to give you her info if interested!!

I don't think we can name specific names of companies, so I will have to be vague and hope that some of you readers out there know where I am talking about.

I heard about a family health center ran by family health practioners located in Wilmington, NC. I was told they take a more holistic approach and they accept most health insurance. I have an appointment set for my son at this place for his two year old checkup and it will be my first time going there.

Does anyone know if this family health care center in wilmington, nc is okay with parents who choose to do delayed, selective or no vaccinations?
