Gilligan & O'Malley nursing tanks

I have three of these tanks. They sort of have a "sling", a piece of fabric down low on the shoulder strap--- is this triangle of fabric supposed to support the breast? It feels like mine is digging in, as if it's not big enough to support me. It's not very comfy at all. I usually end up pushing it way over to the side. When it's more forward, "supporting" me, it's really close to my nipple and seems to push into my boob in an uncomfortable way, while more boob kind of protrudes behind it. I bought an XL, and prior to nursing I was a 36C--- more in width, not outwards, if that makes sense.

Is anyone experiencing this with these tanks? Are the Bravado tanks like this?

You mean the little piece of fabric underneath the cup when you snap it open to nurse? Mine naturally fall to the outside of my boobs, close to the armpit. They're comfortable on me that way.

Me too. If they don't fall that way, I push them out of the way. My boobs are too big for that fabric to lay across them comfortably without causing issues.

I think this is my problem. I'm bigger width-wise, so maybe this is why they are not comfy on me. Boo.

I have 4 G&M tanks, and then yesterday discovered the Glamourmom long tanks, which I like much better, especially for wearing out. I'm a 36DD now, with the nursing. Now the G&M tanks are only for night, they are less supportive than the Glamourmom ones. Maybe these would work better for you.
Good luck!

I like them because the fabric is on the side/out of the way... I hate the "bullseye" style where there's a triangle of fabric with a hole for the nipple/center of the breast to pop through. But if you want or need more support the bullseye style may work better for you...

I didn't care for these tanks at all. I ballooned up to a 40F at my biggest. I have a glamourmom now that I picked up at a consignment store and love it. The support is much differnt than the g&m.

However, as far as actual nursing bras go, the g&m are the ONLY ones I'll buy. They come in real women sizes (wow an actual DD in an actual store? Shocker!) and are comfortable & supportive. Plus they come in a variety of styles. I was lucky enough to get my big ol' honkers down to a 34C (I was a 38 D verging on DD when I got pgs the first time) for the joy of tiny boobies a mere 2 mos before I found out I was pgs again. Boo! It's been about 4 mos now and it's time to get back to Target and go back up a size.

I find them very affordable, because we all know the wear & tear that can take place on a nursing bra. It's nice to know I don't have to break the bank replacing them every couple of months. Plus, my size changed frequently while nursing so it was nice not to have to spend a lot to change sizes too.

I find the piece of fabric annoying too. It was even worse with the tanks from motherhood maternity that I got, so with those I actually took the liberty of cutting both flaps of fabric off. The problem now is the straps got all stretched out with nothing to hold them in place. I still wear them around the house but not in public. Im considering cutting a piece of the flap off of the target tanks too to see if they will work better.

I don't like them either- my boobs go outward, toward my pits, and the sling digs me too. It could give you a blocked duct! Maybe give a little snip with the scissors?
The other reason I don't like these g&m tanks, is they are designed for a post-partum figure. 28 months later they look baggy and saggy in the tummy, a size smaller is too small in the bust.
I'm sorry! Because I want to like them since they are pretty cheap and I live within walking distance of a target!
BUT! I did find some really great tank tops, with built in shelf bra at target, also g&m brand for sleepwear, that are wonderful for nursing. They are really pretty, soft and lots of colors (I have navy and a hot-pinky coral color) and the bottom elastic of the bra is gentle enough to lift, pretty much like a Tshirt. Then with all the extra top layer you get a lot of coverage.
