crtitque my plans

I plan to be slowly ordering my newborn and small stash for my baby over the next few months cause its easier for me to make like several $20-30 orders then 1-2 $100 ones.. Plus its fun
anyways my buying plans
for new born
12 newborn edge orange prefolds in organic
12 new born snuggle up diapers
2 super brite bummi covers in newborn
1 prorap new born cover

for small
24 yellow edge GMD in organic
12 little lions fitted diapers in small
4 thirsties duo covers size one
4 bummi whisper pants

Accessories
4-6 diaper doublers
12 diaper wipes
2 snappi
2 sets pins

how does this seem? I have a some cloth wipes already so don't need a lot more also do have some basics like snappi and pins but a few new ones wont hurt. We also have a least some premium prefolds and larger covers enough to get us by untill larger sizes can be bought when the time comes. We actually plan on using sposies at night for the occasional sitter ect we will also likely use a combo of sposies and cloth in the very begining just cause I'm more intrested in baby bonding than laundry at first. SO how does this look for an overall consertive/moderate cloth diapering cost family looking at washing every 2-3 days max.

It looks good to me, except you'll probably need more wipes (unless you already have a bunch). That's not too many newborn diapers but as long as you're ok with folding down the yellow edge you can always use those if you're short. And the duo covers should work for nb as well from what I hear.

Yea I already have quite a few wipes I ned to inverntory how many if its not as many as I thought I'll add another dozen but I have a bunch of bamboo and flannel/sherpa wipes here from my daughter. Since I'll be doing a combo of sposies and cloth in the early stages I figure I wont need a ton on true newborn diapers and I also figure it wont be long before I can jsut easily fold down the yellow edge ones like you said and ditto on the duo working for both NB and small. That played a big roll in my decession.
If I do add any diapers it will likely be a dozen flats as they can be used at anysize.

Yup, I've been using the Thirsties Duo on my nb, who was 7lb3oz at birth and is now about 9lb5oz. Should still fit for quite a while. They were big at first, trying to keep the cover below the cord stump, but still usable...

Will you need wetbags, or diaper pail?

Also consider cd safe rash ointment (like Earth Mama Angel Baby, or others), or some fleece or flushable liners in case you need to use regular diaper rash cream at some point...

Good reminders yes I will I'll use a traditional kitchen trash can for a diaper pain but I do need a new liner for it have smaller wet bags already though. good idea on the rash cream. I'll also order some Charlies soap eventually thats worked best for us last time. I got a lot of little cotton liners from before so I can use those if rash cream issue arises.

My debate now is to go with the Little lions fitted in smalls the price is great at under $8 right now (though I may or may not get an order in soon enough) but it also means having to do it 2 more times before PT likely. My other thought is getting the part time package from motherease it will include 12 one size diapers 3 covers (have to size up eventually) and 6 liners the fitted are more for DH. He'll like the velcro overall better but wondering if a one size may be more ecconomical...

More NB covers.

More wipes.

I thought more NB covers too, unless you are spectacularly good at folding prefolds and don't get poop on the covers.

I'm an awsome folder I'd have 7 covers that would potientially fit a newborn how many should I plan for? I'm fine with extra covers I like covers
Oh and after adding a dozen wipes I'll have almost 5 dozen still need more?

Sorry, I thought you only had 3 NB covers. I think 7 would be fine, especially if you are an awesome folder (I am not, I figure that's why there's a cover!)

And 5 dozen wipes sounds like plenty too.

Was just half serious on the folding I have had a ton of practice and I'm comfortable with it but I haven't done it with a screaming wiggily newborn soo yea. I think I might try to add maybe a couple more true newborn covers especially closer to my due date if it looks like I'll have another tiny one.
