That wasn't a bad article at all! Lots of credence was given the OTHER side of the argument as opposed to just parroting the CDC. I loved that the doctor said if there's disagreement, don't circ.

new research suggests the procedure could be used to combat a major health problem
Since when is Aids a major health problem in the US??

I thought the article was more balanced than most...

I like the bit in the article about the woman who circumcized both of her sons, and she was so happy about sparing them from future problems, and there were no complications apart from the tiny matter of one of her sons "requiring" a second circ because the first didn't remove enough skin.

Overall I didn't think the article was that bad, at least not compared to what it could have been.

"If they ask, 'Is it necessary?' most of us would say no," he said. "If they say, 'We are thinking about it,' I say, 'That's fine.' If they say, 'We're thinking about not having it,' I say, 'Fine.' "
hmmmm, wonder what would happen if the Doctors didn't ask parents if they'd like for their healthy son to have surgery, but instead they gave info on intact care as the default.

The response "Is it necessary?" is proof that the doctor is in fact soliciting genital reduction surgery on a healthy baby who clearly doesn't need surgery.
