We had asparagus with dinner. If my water breaks tonight, will it smell like asparagus? Amniotic fluid is partly fetal pee, right? hmmm. I told DH to remember that we had asparagus for dinner in case I went into labor - I wouldn't want them to think I had some sort of horrible infection when it was just asparagus stink

I LOVE asparagus but that pee smell is just killer. I bet the baby would happily emerge from that sac of water if that was the case. Maybe that would get the little rascal more motivated to come out?!!

Several years ago I had a total craving for asparagus... walking down the street in NYC, saw some, started to drool. I ended up eating close to two POUNDS of steamed asparagus that night. When I used the toilet later I seriously thought I was dying. I mean, I expected stink but dear gods and little apples! The smell was so intense I called my dh to ask if there was some sort of asparagus toxicity and if I should go to the university clinic.

He still laughs about that and teases me for that phone call.

Hope the asparagus-as-eviction-notice works and you're holding your (not stinky ) babe soon!
