So outraged

The stuff with the CDC this week is making me REALLY ashamed to be an American. I wish that I lived in Europe right now, where my beautiful perfect intact son would not be seen by society as broken and in need of surgery.

I can only imagine how intact men must feel about all the junk that is going on, if I as a mother of an intact son feel this irritated and angry. I really really hope that this is a bad dream and that the CDC won't start recommending circ. Because I would really hate to see a jump back into the 1970's and assembly line circ's.

Actually, here in the Midwest we're still pretty close to the 1970's with our 80ish percent circ rate. I would hate to see how much worse things could get!

Somebody tell me where I can send a letter to the CDC because this is really bothering me!

What the CDC is doing right now is, 'spreading a rumor'.

That's how one conditions an atrocity within a culture.

They know that its hard to kill a rumor. They're using this tactic to see the "circumcision rates go higher" (Nancy's words from the TODAY's show).

I'm just waiting for all this to backfire and blow up in their faces.

Oh, I would love for it to backfire. How do you think that might happen? Do you think that circ rates will go lower once people see the hypocrisy and stupidity of the CDC?

It is shameful and really just distrubing what the CDC is doing. And how in the hell is one to trust the CDC on anything after this?

I don't see what the CDC has to do with being an American...: I consider myself very blessed to live here.....but anyways.....to answer the question:

Go to http://www.cdc.gov/contact/index2.htm to send an email.

I didn't trust them in the first place...this just confirms that they are nothing but a mouth piece for the medical industry...follow the $$$$

Meaning that I feel sad that I live in a country where circumcision is being pushed so hard and may be pushed even harder. I didn't mean to offend by my comment. I'm just feeling sorely irritated about our cultural bias towards cutting boys here.

Thanks for the link.

The CDC is about money and somehow sometimes I feel like they want to control people and their kids (circ is not up to them, whether people vaccinate is their business, not yours and so on)...
To me it is so blatantly obvious how ridic the whole pushed circ thing is, cause you know back in Germany all those intact men are doing fine and HIV rates are lower than in the US. Makes you wonder
Guys quick question: where can I find out about a specific state's circ rates? We just left circ-unhappy CA to WY and I sort of think it must be higher here.... I mean the local hospital has an over 40% csection rate, I haven't met many AP parents, it just seems not like an intact-friendly area, but I don't want to just assume things, I'd like to find out.

The CDC thing really depresses me too.
I sort of felt happy knowing that some day soon circ could be a thing of the past altogether especially with 2014 being so close now and equal legal protection could be right around the corner.
But now it seems like its just going to get worse.
