Thrush treatment for baby?

Other than nystatin (which I don't think works) and acidophylis, what kind of thrush treatment does a baby get? I am hesitant to try gentian violet (did it for one of my older kids, but my LC was not too happy about it when I told her) and honestly, last time I used it, it did NOT help and I know there is a risk of cancer down the future or something I had read. I've started a regimen of antifungal creme for my nipples and GFSE as well as basic hygiene/laundry protocol as well. I was just curious if I should do anything special to treat the baby as well or if the GFSE will pass onto the baby. I may even still ask my ob for a script for the diflucan (see him next wk for my 6 wk pp appt) if I don't notice an improvement in a few days. In the past I have had to take the diflucan, I know some of it passes onto baby, but it really does a number on GI, so I don't want to take diflucan this time around if I can avoid it. However, I was just wondering if there is anything else I can, "give" baby right now to treat his thrush.

In the past I've used:

Gentian Violet on me, then breastfed to transfer to baby's mouth
Oral suspension of Diflucan - you swab it all around babe's mouth before feeding
Oral suspension of Nystatin - the Nystatin cream was not working for me, so I discontinued all of it.

Good luck!
