I agree, it's really expensive when you make a whole bunch of them, and DH and I got superstressed out mailing them (he's the chef, I was the mailing coordinator, there just wasn't enough room in our kitchen for the tubs of fruitcakes/booze and the wrapping and the mailing supplies, etc.) And it just kept getting more and more expensive, it was crazy, and people started making fun of us and our fruitcakes when we worked soooo hard on them, it wasn't worth it to do it again this year.
I think we might try that recipe for ourselves. We did the regular Better Homes and Gardens recipe and they were pretty well boozy by the end of it, you got quite the buzz of just one piece!
