Another penis question

My ds is 2.5 yo and for the past few weeks or so has occasionally woken up with the tip of his foreskin red and swollen (puffy). It's just at the very end and he tells me it hurts and asks for his diaper to be removed. Once the air hits it the swelling and redness goes away and he stops complaining of discomfort. It doesn't happen when he wears a disposable diaper to bed, only cloth. It started a while back after he'd spent nearly the entire day yanking on it so I'm wondering if he separated the foreskin a little bit. I'm not overly concerned, but I would love it if somebody could tell me this is not entirely atypical.

It sounds to me like he is getting a bit of diaper rash. It could also be a bit of seperation allowing the foreskin to move more and that is allowing it to rub him in a different way when he gets night time erections.

How long has it been since you stripped your cd's?

I suppose it's been about six months since I stripped them. There was hardly any sudsy residue in the washer when I did it though. Maybe I'll give that a try.

Since you said that he dosnt do it in sposies at night but does in CD that is what made me think of stripping. Dont cd's fit a bit looser than sposies? That would allow more movement in there at night is what I was thinking

Actually I think the cloth might be tighter, based on the fold we use - problem is I can't find another fold that doesn't leak at night. There is quite a bit of bulk in the front when he sleeps. He's on the potty most of the day so I don't really want to spend a lot of money on new dipes, but if there were another cloth dipe that would work better with less bulk I might buy 2 or 3 just for nights.

I would put a bunch of barrier cream on the tip before bed and see if that helps. If it is a rubbing issue it should make a difference.

Yeah, it definitely seems like friction. I'll try the barrier cream. I was reluctant to put anything on it for fear of making it worse, but I suppose a bit of diaper cream isn't going to hurt.
