Is Corningware Safe?

I've got tons of corning ware inherited from my mom. I think it is from the 70's. It's the kind with the blue cornflower on it, and also the french white with ridges on the outside. I also have some "grab-it" bowls and a couple of pieces with the green and orange veggies on the side. Does anyone know if this is safe or what it is made of? I've emailed the company and no response. TIA!

I've done pretty well by calling companies directly. I don't know about your particular set, I have some corningware as well. I have heard that there is lead in some of the painted motifs, but it is on the outside, so I am not sure how big of a concern it is- as it wouldn't actually touch food.

Thanks Pinoikoi! I may try to call them.

Anyone else know anything about what it's made of?
