recycle old, crappy, plastic toys

So, these toys are cheap plastic food pieces that someone got for DD. I only let her play with them while the giver of said toys were around. Now they have been sitting in a bag in my basement for more than three years. There is no way that i am going to give them to somone else's kid to play with, but they dont have numbers on them so I dont know if I can recycle them or not. Is there some magical place where I can drop off my crappy toys and have them made into something like a toothbrush or somehting??? I'd like to keep them out of the landfill, if possible.

No. If there's no number I don't think you can do anything in terms of recycling.

Are they really so bad though? Somebody on Freecycle would probably take them and give them a home.
