Healthy eating

Hey mama's. I need some support and ideas.

My urine test showed I have trace amounts of ketones and that tells me I might not be eating a well balance diet. And I want to get on top of that asap. I tend to go a long time without eating and want to change that habit so that I can grow a healthy plump baby. But to me, that's not stuffing my mouth with junk.

I know that with ms just around the corner, I want to start good eating habits now cause I know that bad carbs are what I will be craving.

What are some good healthy snacks I can eat through out the day to keep my sugars balanced? I was thinking string cheese, apple slices, whole wheat toast with peanut butter, turkey slices, yogurt, cottage cheese..

What else can you suggest?? I'm looking for protein and healthy carbs. Help me with my shopping list!!!!

I always like having hummus around and some chopped veggies. Quick and easy to snack on!

I went out and bought a big bag of dried fruit and dry roasted/unsalted nuts to keep in my desk at work for trail mix :

Yep, my accupunturist recommended hummus. Also, boiled eggs are another good source of protein.

When I was doing some low carb snacks, a really nice one is to take leaf lettuce, with vegetable cream cheese or spread, a slice or two of turkey, cucumbers and sunflower seeds, roll it up and voila! Gives you crunchy and healthy and yummy all in one!

Hummus & veggies is a good one.
And veggie cream cheese and cucumbers on a whole grain cracker - my favorite!

i drank smoothies with rice protein powder through 2/3 of my pregnancy with wren. i couldn't deal with them in the first tri though -- because i couldn't deal with anything. hoping this time will be a bit easier in that regard.
