Feel like celebrating

My dd is almost 3 months old and I finally feel like I can celebrate our nursing relationship. Even though she is my 4th, she was by far the most challenging when it came to nursing. She had a horrible latch from day one...she wouldn't thrust her tongue out far enough, so she was using her gums to nurse. By her 6th day, it hurt soooo much that I was in tears at the thought of nursing her. I seriously wanted to give up, but a call to my good friend who gave me lots of encouragement and a visit from the LC, and we were back on track. So we have been through poor latch, bleeding/cracked nipples, using and weaning off a nipple shield, prolonged engourgement which led to several plugged ducts and borderline mastitis, thrush and food sensitivities. I never thought we would be at this point where nursing is a breeze! She has just started to "social nurse"...pop off during a feed to give a great big ole milky smile : I am so in love with this little girl!
