Good, quick reads?

My mother's group wants to do a book club, and I offered to organize it. I'd like to put together a list of books to choose from for our first read, but I'm not sure where to start. I do know that most of us don't have a lot of time to sit and read, so I'm trying to find books that are pretty quick to get through, but still have enough in them to generate discussion. Any one have any suggestions?

I got through "My Sister's Keeper" pretty quickly. That has some great points of discussion. "Wicked," "Son of a Witch" (which is the 2nd book in the Wicked series), and "The Time Traveler's Wife" were good reads and had book club discussion questions at the end.

The Sugar Queen and Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen were both fast reads, light and excellent.

It's hard to know how quickly someone else reads, lol, but here are a couple that aren't too long:

Little Bee by Chris Cleave (also titled The Other Hand - I can't remember which title is British and which is used in the U.S.

Life of Pi by Yann Martel
