How long did you TTC?

I'm curious, as dh and I had just decided to try again a short while ago (like 3-4 weeks ago). We weren't doing anything special just didn't prevent (and seriously, it's not like we're BDing machines or anything). It happened so quickly this time around.

How long did you TTC?

This was our second month TTC. At the time it seemed like it was a long time (this is our first baby), but now I realize how quick it really way. I'm very thankful :

we didn't. this is an oops and i still have mixed feelings about it.

with our first we got pregnant on our first "not actively ttc or tta" month.

eta i am thankful we are so "fertile" together but i am a planner so this second pregnancy has really thrown me for a loop!

this was our first go at it- success but was kind of hoping it would take a month!

2nd cycle after pulling the birth control. I was glad it didn't happen in the first cycle, though, because we were just so stressed out then. I had a horrible head cold for 4 weeks and we were moving across the Atlantic. So, pretty close to right away!

6 Cycles of Clomid and many many natural cycles before that... You gals don't know how lucky you are to have TTC come so easily to you!

Im a single mama by choice so I was doing AI. I tried for 6 months with nothing. I took a break for 2 months while I got back on the pill to regulate and just got off last month. First month trying again and whatdoyouknow? PREGNANT!

8 months of trying, but still nursing lots and that may be only 4 or 5 cycles, not even sure which ones were ovulatory cycles as I can't get organized enough to chart well with my night-nursing monster in bed with us. Last time it took us 4 cycles.

We were not preventing - next month was supposed to be our first month of actually trying.

I'm super-grateful that we've never had issues getting pregnant. It's the staying pregnant and having a take-home baby at the end I have trouble with!

we were trying for 3-4 months. like bethanta said, it seemed like forever, but now realize it was nothing. we're very fortunate. with our first, i believe i got pregnant on our first try (maybe that's why it seemed to take so long this time).

Um, we were not trying...but we weren't preventing just following a loose version of FAM b/c we are both too tired to have sex that much anyway DH is walking around like a peacock b/c he MUST have supersperm or something

This was our first month TTC. All of our kids have been conceived on the first try. I really thought it would take longer this time, as I am 4 years older and 30 lbs. heavier. Its a good reminder that you can't plan everything!

lots of very fertile ladies around here! this was our 6th month...and of course, the one we "weren't trying" because our insurance was changing. it's all fine now w/no insurance problems but funny of course the cliche about "just relax..."

Things like this become cliche for a reason, eh?

This was our first month trying too. I'm so thankful it happened quickly because I am a very impatient person

Oh my, I'll probably scare some people with my response.

We decided in October 2003 to start TTC the following spring. DH got sick and needed chemo before that happened. Chemo was over and we tested his sperm in the summer of 2005 to find nothing. We did 6 donor cycles in the summers of 2006 and 2007 with no luck. We tried naturally all months inbetween. Some sperm returned in the fall of 2007 and we tried naturally, with soy isoflavones, acupuncture and Clomid for the next year (2008)with no luck. In the winter/spring of 2009 we decided to try IVF b/c DH finally had enough sperm to do that. We started our cycle near the end of may and got our good news just a week ago!

Well, after all that congratulations!!! It was a long and winding road getting here, but enjoy your pregnancy to its fullest. Sounds like your dh is doing great now, that's wonderful.

Thanks apecaut! DH is in a holding pattern which is nice because we know what to expect. He will always have his illness (autoimmune) but he functions well working a bit and being home the rest of the time. It's nice and I'm so lucky to have him as healthy as he is.
