Help! Crayon melted in dryer!

I'm just going to throw the clothes away since there are SO. MANY. SPOTS. But how do I clean my dryer?!

By the way...it's a gas dryer, so no WD40 or Goo Gone as per the Crayola website.

I did this with lipstick last week.

I found an old fashioned cleaner called Letsoil. My local ACE hardware store carried it. It worked amazingly well. It was a lot of clothes, and they were all things that would need to be replaced. I figured it was worth a shot, not expecting much. The letsoil worked really well.

I'm not sure on the environmental-friendliness of this cleaner. However, the other choice was to throw away an entire load of clothes, so I decided that it was worth it.

i did this with a beeswax crayon (maybe different than crayola)

i kept the clothes and after several washes most of the stains are gone. i just scratched the debris out of the dryer with my finger nails.

it was also a gas dryer

this happened to me a couple of months ago. I rewashed the clothes as normal (after they sat in a bag for several days) and amazingly they came out clean minus a couple of socks!!!!

I thought I'd come and give the outcome. I found lots of info about using WD 40, but couldn't use that ...not so interested in blowing up my house with a gas dryer

I started out with a slightly abrasive sponge and a bowl of moistened baking soda.

But I found a guy on the web who said he used whitening toothpaste and I thought I'd give it a try and :

I'm working on it a bit at a time and hope to have it finished tomorrow. I may try to salvage the clothes as well...if I still have some energy! Wax on, wax off...
