My doctor is great!

I posted in the Intact and No Problems thread, but I thought that I'd post a separate thread too.

I took DS to the doctor today. The doctor never even had me undress the baby for the visit. In prior visits, the doctor has never even touched the baby's genitals, other than checking to see that his testicles were descended.

So yay for a good doctor and a perfectly healthy son with no penis problems who has never been retracted or attempted to be retracted by anybody.

I just wanted to share something positive about a doctor in here, lest people get the impression from some of the threads here that all doctors are out to retract intact babies.

My son's pedi never once tried to retract him or mess with his penis at all. He also never asked me if my son was retractable or give me any bogus advice. The doctor was raised in India and new all about normal anatomy and function and care. While I never asked, I suspect he too had his foreskin. I think that can make a huge difference - having a doctor knowing that foreskins are normal and can be a good thing versus having one who lost his foreskin in infancy, never knew the value and was never taught the value or function by US medical schools.

That's wonderful! : It's good to hear that there are other good docs out there.
