Nursing Mamas TTC September - Page 2

Just started charting a few days before I O'd this month. Nice to see the expected dip & rise - just confirmation that my body is doing what it's supposed to.

I decided to make a concerted effort to get DD down to 2x/a day nursing - morning & night. She'll go down for a nap just fine for DH (i.e. no nursing), so I think that one will be fairly easy. The afternoon nurse will be the tough one - she's tired, I'm sometimes just coming home from work...need to find an alternative way to snuggle with her without the insistent "Dzi-dzi! Dzi-dzi!" (her word for nursing?!?!).

I figure, either way, it's time. If I didn't get pg this cycle, hopefully dropping a couple of sessions will help out my borderline luteal phase. If I am pregnant, it's just preparation for losing milk eventually....

I'm curious - how many times a day does your LO nurse?

TopHap -Yeah that is a while, but you can clearly see how your body is progressing - It's kind of amazing how the breastfeeding hormones affect everyone differently.

Little grey mare - What a big milestone mama! . We'll miss you. I'm sure we'll see you aorund the board, and hopefully on to the DDC's in not too long.

slgt - Over 12x a day probably. He's a snacker. He has food allergies so I won't cut him down since there is no replacement milk. Obviously, I do not have a model leutal phase :-p

AFM - Ladies! I think AF is here! @ 8dpo! That means 7 day LP - boooo! The worst part is I really felt like we got it this month, but I guess we'll never know.

Happy September mamas! Good luck to all the 2wwer's!

slgt I've never counted but it is ALOT, really. My LP is ok though I think, at 13. I had thought about night weaning but with traveling to Japan in September and starting part-time playschool in November (we are risking burning grandma out right now ) I think the night nursing is important.

AFM: CD 20 and happily awaiting AF so I can get off the waiting to be ready list. I'm ready dammit!

Just checking in. I have been thinking about not TTC(life is good right now with the kiddos!) but DH and I ended up DTD on CD12 and CD14. Pretty sure I was O'ing yesterday, which was CD14 so now will wait and see!

Thanks.. I guess it's possible. Stil just super light with no cramps, but the way my temps tanked the days before, I'm not feeling very confident. I guess if nothing else happens or it stops, I"ll test in a couple days.

I think I'm on CD6 and I woke up this morning, with the worst breast pain in one breast that I think I've ever had. Not sore nipple pain but hot, achey all over. Mastitis? I've been nursing for 35 months straight and have never had a problem, nothing at all. Ouch.

I didn't even temp this morning because I feel so sick. Blah.

Yes! Nurse, nurse, nurse and nurse some more. Check the suggestions in Kellymom and keep going until it clears. Ouch, sorry you're going through that.

Ouch finnegan's mom!

RE: LPs and nursing.

My first 3 pp cycles were 4 or 5 day LPs when I was nursing DD and pumping at work.

Then, the 4th pp cycle, she turned 1, I stopped pumping at work, and she amazingly, started STTN. So, the nursing went down to morning and night, + before naps on weekends when I'm home with her.

My LP lengthened and I got a BFP.

I was also taking B6, B12, extra folic acid, Vitex, and using progesterone cream after O.

Honestly, I think the only thing that really helped me was less nursing.

Hey there! I guess I'm part of this group since I've been nursing the munchkin for over a year and she doesn't show any signs of stopping anytime soon. My period came back six weeks after she was born. No matter, we don't conceive naturally. The munchkin is a fertility meds baby (took 16 months of TTC), and we are doing the same for this one. I am currently 3dpo.

Hi Janie!!! So nice to *see* you mama!!!

wishing you all luck this month!!

Well it is mastitis. Awesome. It got bad quickly. I called the midwife and she had me take my temp over the phone. I said, all I have is a basal thermometer, and she was silent. "Did you just say rectal?" Ha. No. So I'm sure my temps will be wonky for the next few days. I don't O until CD 21/22 (with a 7 day LP blah) so I have 2 weeks to kind of get through this.

RE: luteal phase, when I was nursing Finn back in 07, My Lp was 8 days and the month I super upped the dose of B6 I did get pregnant. It was 8 days for 3 cycles in a row. Then I got pregnant and never saw it get longer. So have hope!
