Bella - I hope things get better for your sis!

Cari - that sculpture is awesome!

Maia - I hope the quiz went well!

Mary - I'm glad that your homeschooling is going well, even if it's kept you away from here A new routine can take some work but it sounds like your 3 littles are having a great time

Thank you all for your well-wishes for DD. We got there and it came back negative for CHARGE and the karyotyping came back normal. Thank the gods!

Today being 9/11, I'm thinking of the tragedy and of those who have lost loved ones or who were touched in a myriad of ways.

I hope to check in later this afternoon before I head off to the base, temporary home on and off for the next two months. I won't have internet access other than e-mail and military stuff, so I'll have to catch up when I get back :P

sa~huzzah!!! (eta: wait, so you'll be basically "gone" for two whole months??? ack! we'll miss you!!!!)

aeress~ lol, thanks.
where? well... maybe. dh and i both are drawn to OR... we visited it a lot when we lived in WA, and i have old family roots there that seem to call me (and others in my family, interestingly...)... but i'm frightened to near death of going back to NW gloooom....

9-11... wow. i've been under a rock! i didnt realize it was here already... thinking of that day... and what else it means, too-- my cousin's b'day, my friend's anniversary....
and, for those of us who note such things, pluto turns direct today... watching to see what comes up today.....

and, once more, i'm off to altar camp to try to catch up!!!

Not two whole months, but 4 weekends over the next two months (two weekends each). I don't think I could handle being away from everyone for that long Sorry for misleading you!

Morning Mamas.

I am so tired. I am just not getting enough sleep. No matter what time I go to bed, I wake up super early and I can't go to sleep very early because I am just not tired at all.

I am so ready for the good times.

to all, I am not awake enough still to respond intelligently. I'll be back later.

This thread is flying by! I really need to catch up! I have been reading the Lady of Ten Thousand Names with my girls and they love it. It's about Goddesses around the world. Nothing else to say right now, though.

sa~ phew!

bella~ i know we talked about this before, but have you tried magnesium? the "natural calm" powder drink stuff really helps me sleep better (i cant take it for very long, though, but to get thru a crazy time, i love it)...

dok, ouch! hope you're ok!

i'm going bonkers here... ds is "better" from his sickies, but he's being really fussy and non-communicative... we did have a decent conversation earlier, but i am drained and in need of some time to tap and journal! (dh was supposed to take him out this morning, but little one pitched a fit and refused to go, so now i'm going on three weeks with no journaling or tapping time alone, and i'm not really pleased with that! sigh.) ok, vent over.

i just looked up the meaning for the stone i got the other day... it was one of those "not-what-i-was-looking-for, but clearly-it-wanted-to-come-home-with-me" kinds of experiences.... and now i know why.... check out the meaning here.....

hope everyone's having a decent friday....
i got my bit of time alone, but dh just called to say he's on his way home with a melting down child.... deep breath........

Ty I have half a block of clay left & I'm contemplating what to do with it now I'm glad the testing came back with good results! That must be a weight off your mind for sure. I hope you manage to pop in now and again while you're away!

I just can't stay away from you guys

I don't know how I did on the exam in Assessment, but I just took a timed (10m) online quiz for Fundamentals, on enteral tubes, and I got 90% in just 5 minutes! : That oughtta bring up my 65% grade in that class

Oh, Cari, she's gorgeous! I wonder if you can glaze it in some kind of glaze so you can burn a bit of incense in the bottom. I'd love to have one like that!

I know we have, but it sounded like you had more definitive plans, this time. Or maybe that's just how I was reading into your post

C'mon over! The more the merrier. I'm telling you, you really ought to visit. Asheville's gorgeous. Here you go: http://www.exploreasheville.com/index.aspx

Oh, now I feel silly. I thought "Honeycrisp Apples" was some sort of dessert recipe, not an actual kind of apple. Dang.
I'm partial to Stayman Winesap, myself. And Golden Delicious-- but only orchard ones in season, otherwise I hate them I'm such an apple snob. But there really is a difference. The store ones are so mealy and gross and bland. The orchard ones are a whole different ball'o'wax.

Oh that is so weird. It's my cousin's birthday, too.
The year after 2001, she wanted to change her birthday, but they wouldn't let her. She really did want to. She's had her birthday for 50 years, now, though-- she's 2mo older than me, though she's technically my dad's first cousin.
The teacher of my Assessment class actually held a moment of silence in class for people affected by 9/11. That was weird. But kind of cool, too.

That sounds cool-- is it a kid's book?

Xrays? Mama, what happened?
I swear I need to send you flowers or something. Anything we can do to brighten your day? I would surely send you a car if I had the means, you know that?

OH that is a great idea... Ok I may have to go to the craft store after all My thought was to leave little treasures there but incense is a wonderful idea

That's awesome I think... especially in the nursing field, can you imagine how many nurses would have been traumatized from working through that in NYC? But they soldier on because that is what nurses do. I have a seriously special soft spot for people that work in ANY kind of emergency service.

I did think about 9/11 yesterday, and into today. I remember vividly my MIL to be coming downstairs to wake me up telling me 'somethings happened back home' I didn't move from the sofa all day, was glued to the news in shock half a world away.

Yep.. it's a Barefoot book.. : if you take note of a certain persons sig line *cough*DOK*cough* you might find a linky to it :

Honeycrisp apples are a big super crisp and juicy apple. Lots of flavor but not very tart. They are only available in Fall - but they keep pretty well if you have a cool dry place. I buy them by the 40 pound case - and my DH and I and (last year) my 10 month old son ate 80 pounds between October and January. Might have been a little out of hand - but we love them. DS will be 2 in December, I figure he'll eat a few pounds a week himself this year.

I totally missed your post! Glad you like the book! The other Goddesses book is in stock now (my fave).
There'll be more pagan(ish) books coming out this fall.

Hi Mamas.

Still struggling even though its been a week since the divorce. My friend (ex's team leader from the 1st deployment) is telling me that I am living in the past. He's right. Its so hard to move on. I feel like ex is still deployed and that he is gonna call me any minute to tell me he misses and loves me. I'm pretty pathetic

My birthday is in exactly one month. I have no idea what to do for it. I hope things are immensely better by then.

Well...but, for you, he never did come home, so I can see how your feelings are valid. And divorce is one of the major life stressors, so I can't see being over it in just a week. My divorce happened years ago, and then exDH ended up dying, and I still have resentments and sadness and all that. Don't beat yourself up too much. Just go through the process, Bella. The only way through, is, well, through
