Michaels has beads? Who knew.

Yes, on the accentuating the positive. I hate when people say (or there are signs) that say "Don't forget to_____!"-- I always say "Remember to____!"

Said boyfriend and I were exceedingly sick together (as in drunk all the time, really depraved lifestyles, and we lived in his parents' house for a good part of the time, and his dad utterly hated us at the time). I have tried to contact exBF several times through his parents, cause he just isn't available online, and I never, ever hear back. It's a bummer, but I guess I am one chapter they just want to close.

So by the end of the year I should have a literal "wheel of the year" with myself at the center and a physical representation of mothering through the energies of the year.
Are you feeling better today, I hope?

If I ever get up to central NY again, I will have to stop by and visit you

I don't think our library has games to borrow, but that is a brilliant idea and I'm going to check into it!
There's a new Bakugan game coming out (about time, if you ask me but it's only for the DS. I have to sign up at Game Stop, but if you pre-order one, you get a free...I think it's called a Skin? for the DS. That has Bakugan on it.
Those games are expensive!! Even on Half.com!

I'm asking because I'm just not feeling the cauldron love. It feels a little too cliche for me (though if it works for you please don't be offended, I'm new at this).
Thanks!
Welcome and merry meet! I don't have a cauldron but, like Cari, I love the kitchy stuff and I want one. They're too much $$$, even the itty bitty ones. But someday. I'm also prone to Kitchen Witchery, and I have a wonderful mortar and pestle that I scored for only $8, and another itty one that I actually use more often. Not magically, but practically In my room on my altar I have a hand-made clay bowl with a goddess attached. I use that for incense and stuff.

How's Lucas this morning? Well...whatever day it is for you there I can't figure that out I think it's tonight for you, right now.

Yes, there are LOTS of things worse than being killed, IMO. Like....living, with guilt or infirmity or a dragging illness or something. I'd be better able to explain that in person

I hope y'all didn't have to go to the hospital

And YES, on the Halloween stuff! I made my first batch'o'the year of Harry Potter pumpkin juice

Holy cow I'm busy...have a major exam coming up Friday, and 3 study groups besides my classes to get ready for it. And another exam on Monday. Eek.

BLR- Good luck! That's so exciting

Valerie-I'm sorry I hope she's doing well enough for surgery today and that things go well.

Cari- Yikes! poor baby. Is he doing any better today?

Welcome green-momma2007!
On my alters I tend more towards goddesses and nature objects. I have lots of rocks, crystals, seashells and different goddesses I've made or found elsewhere. The personalization of paganism really appeals to me.

bluets- I enroll my girls in different activities when they ask for it, and I don't like to have too much going on at once. We've tried lots of sports, ballet, gymnastics... but that's been over the last 4 years. My goal is to expose them to many different things so they can get a feel for what they like. Usually one at a time is nice. Dh coached our oldest's soccer team for a long time, and I really liked that- I was worried about crazy competitive parents and a coach that pushed too hard. I ended up loving the soccer team- we had a great time.

Pumpkin juice! Yummy!

beads- we don't have any dedicated bead shops here so all my beads come from Michaels, AC Moore, or JoAnn Fabrics. It sort of forces creativity a bit since the selection is always "limited". No charms or findings, few "fancy" beads, a limited selection of real stones (many say "simulated" or "man made" in small print on the packaging), etc. There used to be bead shops but of course they all closed before I discovered beading!

I hope everyone is feeling better, that childrren and parents and friends recover quickly and completely. I'm still a bit shaky, but the abx seem to be working... no more fever, the swelling is down, the air on my skin doesn't hurt! But my right breast is still red/lumpy/sore, I'm still a bit light headed and nauseated, and I get tired fast. I found a vegan probiotic specifically designed for babies so I've been dusting my nipples once a day and hoping ds stays healthy. His dipes turned into abx snot poo so he needs something!

We go today to sign a home equity line of credit so we can build the addition... wish us luck!

you dont need a cauldron. all you need is a large pot. or sometimes i use my double boiler. depends on what i am making. soup, lotion, etc. as a kitchen witch i use what i already have. the important part is stirring in the love and intention. just like i dont have a wand, i have a special wooden spoon. and a special cutting board...etc. i dont really get into buying special stuff from special stores. i like stuff i can use all the time. i also dont "do spells". all of my magic goes into what i am doing.. cooking, cleaning, folding laundry, sewing, etc. i put my love and intention in to that. when i fold laundry i put the intention of protection and harmony into it etc. about the only "spell" i do is when i circle the house with salt once a year around Samhain.

Clay- Its going to take me sooo long to heal and my family is on my case to get outta the house and do something. I'm still consumed with the betrayal, the hurt, the anger and the past. I miss being a wife and stepmom. I miss having my own place and eating the type of foods I want to eat. I am such a control freak about how I want things and this is killing me.

I think I need to get some Cod Liver Oil, but I doubt my parents would pay for any. Plus, I'd get 50 million comments about how weird it is, etc.
you are greiving the loss of what you thought should have been, what you had planned for and expected. it takes time to get over it. i think you are doing just fine. you are looking for work and thinking about the future. at least your family is worried about you :>. but dont take it to hard, you are on the right timeline for you. you just went through a big change, and you are doing better at it than i would have.

So we are doing the antibiotic rounds again.. and we go back on friday to have his chest checked out again. He's also on phenergan because if he doesn't start keeping fluid down by tonight we are to head for the ER as he's dehydrated and will need an IV if we can't get something in him to stay.
s to him. it is hard for little ones when they are sick and cant do anything about it. ihope he keeps something down soon.

bella- good luck! I totally understand about living with parents/family... we stayed with my parents for a while two winters ago and it was "not good". Which is like calling the grand canyon a "nice ditch". I hope this comes together for you quickly so you can heal in your own space and without the family pressures.

Quick check in. Hectic day! Party went well.

Will be back later to catch up.

Keepsakequilting.com is having a free shipping sale (I'm sure there's some catch), yesterday and today. There are some awesome seasonal paganish/witchy quilt kits and some celestial/moon fabric (on sale!) that would be fun to have around for some future project (our fabric choices locally are... well... hobby lobby and joanns - not a fan of either really)...

Our Michaels has a poor selection of beads - or maybe I'm just picky? But I saw the local bead store the other day - it moved to a better location! Now I just have to squeeze in some time to go there. I'm thinking that this might be a Saturday to hit the local craft shops without child in tow.

Funny ds quote: "Hey, Franklin... want to come over to my house? do you know where we live? It's ####... it's medium far away from here..." (#### - ds gave just the house number, not the street name though he does know the street name)

Hi all.

Well, I called at the time I said I would and no answer. Still waiting on a call back almost 30 minutes later. I am really hoping that she just got called away to a birth because she said she would be home until 4. Eek. I'm very nervous.

I am still sick. Not sure what is up. I hate this whole shaky, nauseous thing.

Lucas is a lot better this morning : : : More on that later.. and yes, I suppose you're right in that respect. I immediately thought of Jon living with the survivors guilt of having lost Susan the way he did. Definitely worse for HIM than if he hadn't made it.. at least in the short term.

Awesome! I'm glad it went well despite the lack of rsvp's! Hope you scored some nice hostess discounts and freebies! I used to love pampered chef parties *sigh* If they came to Aus they'd be absurdly$$$ though :

All michaels have a rather pitiful selection honestly.. I guess having lived in northern cali, and now here, where we have pretty good bead shops I'm a bit of a bead snob . I'd say a bead shop is definitely a SANS kid outing .. just imagining the chaos lol.

It's entirely possible that stress is smashing your immune system.. I know it does mine! Hang in there, I'm sure there must have been an urgent reason she wasn't there... it is a rather unpredictable business you're getting into

Ok... so Lucas is doing substantially better.. keeping fluids down, ate toast this morning, arguing with his brother However QUINN spiked a fever last night and was unsettled ALL.NIGHT.LONG. DH finally got him to crash out after forcing him to take some ibuprofen and we ended up pushing the couches together for safety so we didn't have to move him. He took nurofen much easier at 530am for me, and is still asleep in my bed at 1030am (current time here maia lol)

Just shoot me now???

Evening mamas!

I had an insane weekend, which included showing up to the course I'm supposed to be on and them telling me that I'm not on it and having to pay my accomodations and meals - grrr. There is a flurry of e-mails that my CO started so everyone is talking about me lol. Hopefully everything gets sorted out by the next time we go away for the course. I was filled with some serious anxiety all night Friday and all day Saturday until went...*insert light bulb moment* tapping! So I decided I'd do two things at once...tapping and cleansing/letting go in the shower. Worked like a charm because now I can't access those emotions anymore.

We went to our playgroup today and DD had a blast! I got a few things from the dollar store which were awesome and now begins the internet catch up. Hoping to read how everything was for you lovely pagans

Any Mabon plans that I'm missing?
Yay Cari! I'm glad that Lucas is feeling better!

She called back!! She is passing it on to her partner/higher midwife and I should hear back in a couple of days about going into the office to take a tour. Clinics are on Thursdays and they are 12 hours long. They do 4-6 births a month and they also to VBACs, twins and breeches!!! I'd learn SOOOOOOO much. Its unpaid though, which I don't really care because the training and networking would be priceless.

I'm really nervous.
Bella- if you feel comfortable, sometimes they can offer a small stipend to be used for purchasing materials or gas. Might be worth asking for.
I am so happy for you- you sound so happy in your post. :

Velerie- thinking of you!~

Cari- glad the sickies are moving on- please don't send them overseas (tease).

DOK-filled my basket- hope to checkout after 4 today (when the kids are gone). I think I can finally get the Blessings book and earth tales. I have had those on my wish list for a long time.

Morning mamas. Bella, so glad to hear your news!

My morning meditation is out! They are doing construction on our road and the machines are shaking the house! It is so overcast here, if I didn't know any better I would swear it was going to snow!

I hope everyone has a great day!
