I was at Michael's earlier today looking at all the beads.
Instead of being angry with her for going back, maybe you could give her support for getting away. |
|
maia, i like your notion.
and, yes, it's probably the studying... sort of like how one stays up too late during finals week in the dorm stairwells having massive conclaves on medieval philosophy.... or was that just my dorm? ![]() |
are you flirting with me?
um...what are you talking about?
|
as for your lovely spirituality project, 10 points to the person who first guesses what my answer will be......................

mastitis- well, my fever was still in the 101-102 range this morning and I alternate between shivering so hard I can't hold the baby and sweating like a rain cloud.
So by the end of the year I should have a literal "wheel of the year" with myself at the center and a physical representation of mothering through the energies of the year. |

|
Of course, I do enjoy reading our pagan threads here. I've just developed a closeness to a bunch of you.

Was hoping to catch up on the thread on the week-end but got bad news on Friday night and spent the week-end between home and hospital: my mom needs an operation
|
on here, too. |
Maia, last year I got my girls DS's and they love them. Our local library has games to borrow too!
|

but it's only for the DS. I have to sign up at Game Stop, but if you pre-order one, you get a free...I think it's called a Skin? for the DS. That has Bakugan on it. |
Hi ladies! I'm just starting to learn about paganism and I want to set up an altar. A lot of websites mention the cauldron, and I have a few questions about it. What's the purpose of the cauldron, and can it be served by something else. Do you all have cauldrons?
I'm asking because I'm just not feeling the cauldron love. It feels a little too cliche for me (though if it works for you please don't be offended, I'm new at this). Thanks! |
In my room on my altar I have a hand-made clay bowl with a goddess attached. I use that for incense and stuff.|
*is* there something worse than being killed?
That being said.. I like cliche sometimes especially around Halloween |
I can't figure that out
I think it's tonight for you, right now.

I hope she's doing well enough for surgery today and that things go well.

|
Green Momma- I don't use a cauldron but I do have a mortar and pestal(sp). I am more of a kitchen witch, I believe some witches use the cauldron for spell work. I never felt connected to a cauldron so I never purchased one. *shrugs* I like to do what feels right to me.
|
|
Cari- I'm applying to everything I can, in fact, I just applied to be a cashier at a flippin gas station on Saturday's and Sunday's....for $10/hr.
Clay- Its going to take me sooo long to heal and my family is on my case to get outta the house and do something. I'm still consumed with the betrayal, the hurt, the anger and the past. I miss being a wife and stepmom. I miss having my own place and eating the type of foods I want to eat. I am such a control freak about how I want things and this is killing me. I think I need to get some Cod Liver Oil, but I doubt my parents would pay for any. Plus, I'd get 50 million comments about how weird it is, etc. |

I'm very worried about Lucas now
The doc gave him a very thorough check over.. he definitely has an ear infection again, but the doc also listened to his lungs because there's a persistent cough that we have all had.. and he said one area of Lucas' right lung sounds 'off' .. he's not ready to slap a pneumonia label on it, but he said the air movement in there doesn't sound as good as the rest of his chest. So we are doing the antibiotic rounds again.. and we go back on friday to have his chest checked out again. He's also on phenergan because if he doesn't start keeping fluid down by tonight we are to head for the ER as he's dehydrated and will need an IV if we can't get something in him to stay. ![]() |
s to him. it is hard for little ones when they are sick and cant do anything about it. ihope he keeps something down soon.|
Totally nervous now!
An email went out on the local doula list for a student midwife position, looking for a non-traditional student, open-minded, etc. I contacted her and she wants to talk on the phone! I'd talk tonight if I wasn't so flipping nauseous and not all here. So, I am calling her around noon tomorrow. Please Gods let me get this! |
I totally understand about living with parents/family... we stayed with my parents for a while two winters ago and it was "not good". Which is like calling the grand canyon a "nice ditch". I hope this comes together for you quickly so you can heal in your own space and without the family pressures.
|
Still on the waiting game... it's nerve wrecking. (and mom is going nuts not being able to eat all day every day and to only get toasts in the evening
![]() ![]() |
I hope she's trying to keep positive! I know, not easy :S|
Michaels has beads? Who knew.
Welcome and merry meet! I don't have a cauldron but, like Cari, I love the kitchy stuff and I want one. |
How's Lucas this morning? Well...whatever day it is for you there I can't figure that out I think it's tonight for you, right now. Yes, there are LOTS of things worse than being killed, IMO. Like....living, with guilt or infirmity or a dragging illness or something. I'd be better able to explain that in person ![]() |
:
:
: More on that later.. and yes, I suppose you're right in that respect. I immediately thought of Jon living with the survivors guilt of having lost Susan the way he did. Definitely worse for HIM than if he hadn't made it.. at least in the short term.|
beads- we don't have any dedicated bead shops here so all my beads come from Michaels, AC Moore, or JoAnn Fabrics. It sort of forces creativity a bit since the selection is always "limited". No charms or findings, few "fancy" beads, a limited selection of real stones (many say "simulated" or "man made" in small print on the packaging), etc. There used to be bead shops but of course they all closed before I discovered beading!
![]() We go today to sign a home equity line of credit so we can build the addition... wish us luck! |

bella- good luck!

Quick check in. Hectic day! Party went well.
Will be back later to catch up. |
:|
Our Michaels has a poor selection of beads - or maybe I'm just picky? But I saw the local bead store the other day - it moved to a better location! Now I just have to squeeze in some time to go there. I'm thinking that this might be a Saturday to hit the local craft shops without child in tow.
|
. I'd say a bead shop is definitely a SANS kid outing .. just imagining the chaos lol. |
Well, I called at the time I said I would and no answer. Still waiting on a call back almost 30 minutes later. I am really hoping that she just got called away to a birth because she said she would be home until 4. Eek. I'm very nervous.
I am still sick. Not sure what is up. I hate this whole shaky, nauseous thing. |

However QUINN spiked a fever last night
and was unsettled ALL.NIGHT.LONG. DH finally got him to crash out after forcing him to take some ibuprofen
and we ended up pushing the couches together for safety so we didn't have to move him. He took nurofen much easier at 530am for me, and is still asleep in my bed at 1030am (current time here maia lol)
