Me and my dp are getting hitched soon- Fri Nov 13th to be exact! Really excited about the date! at first it was weird feeling but now I am really feeling comfortable and right in the date. All important dates in our lives have centered around pagan holidays.
Ok my question- we've decided to do a hand fasting BUT we both are very NOT into being the center of attention and would rather just blend into the surroundings. so some of ritual(s) of handfasting feel really uncomfortable and on top of all that my mom and BFF both have it in their heads we hve to do alot of ritual.
I gues i am asking if anyone has ideas on something simple or websites (there are too many it sort thru them all) w/ideas. He's norse- I am more earth/energy based. My mom is druid/celtic/wicca and bff in celtic and norse wiccan if that helps.
TIA

Welcome to the group

Your history of dates up there is rather amusing & cool

Re: handfasting.. congrats!!!!! But you're getting married, so there's not much chance that you WON'T be the centre of attention that day, sorry

But you could make it more a family affair by getting other people involved and making it feel more like a group thing than just you two with a spotlight on ya. If you have quarter/elemental altars, you could get other 'pagan minded' family members to bestow the quarter blessings on your marriage instead of you having to do it (or the celebrant can of course) Then all you have to do is either walk the circle or turn around in place

I don't think a handfasting has to be a long drawn out ritual either, when we eventually do ours (I'm thinking on our 10th, which is 2011) the actual ceremony will be the briefest part of the day lol.

I'm bad about that too

If something is on special, MUST.stock.up!!!

I bounce between the Dr Sears "your child's tantrum doesn't reflect on your parenting" and the scene in the Addams Family where Morticia gives her kiddo a bigger knife after taking the smaller one away. Thanks I needed that! I hope the padded room is for MEEEEEEEEE lol.

that sucks!
Who was it that suggested the epsom salt bath soak? I took one last night and it was so nice & relaxing

I stayed in it for a good long time visualizing all the ICK being pulled through my pores and then being sucked away down the drain when I pulled the plug. I certainly felt more human after that at least

Still coughed all.night.long but oh well... maybe I need another bath today hehehe. With a glass of wine, cause alcohol is bacteriacidal and all that

I'm still taking it easy because just about everything sends me into coughing fits, dh is just sure I'm getting pneumonia again but I refuse to take that on board AT all! I will pop over to camp and give a shot at participating though
