No going home news for baby Niles today. He had to go for an echcardiogram because they believe they detected a heart murmur, additionally his bmom is having some PPH and must stay at least another day. We got the pics taken at the hosp and the bmom helped and picked some out. We had a great visit and he is a hungry little fellow! There are some concerns with the bdad. SO we are just on pins and needles.

It feels exciting, a bit nervous, not because of me, but my DH drives my car sometimes and I worry about him because of his job. It is a pentagram made out of ivy, no mistaking it for what it is, but I love it. Also says blessed be.


gun, I hope everything goes well with Niles, health wise and involving the bdad. Will be thinking of you.

Today is my parents 26th wedding anniversary. They just left for dinner dressed up (Mom is wearing my clothes lol) and I am hoping they bring me back food. I have a job interview at a local car dealership tomorrow as a sales person. Its a job and I need one. My Dad is not thrilled, he's a mechanic and very much dislikes care sales people.

Good luck on the job interview. Congrats to your parents. I also don't think it's a flawed role model for relationships, it's an honest one, therefore a perfect one imo.

Just spent many hours in the ER with Roo. They gave me a referral to a pediatric cardiologist that I need to call on Friday (today, since it's 1:39am here).

6 yr olds should not have to experience chest/heart pain.

Ok, this is really weird. The regular pediatrician wants to see Roo on Tuesday. After that exam (etc), they'll decide whether he needs to see a pediatric cardiologist and they will have to set that up themselves (otherwise, I wouldn't be able to get an appt until Nov!)

I'm rather surprised that they even want to wait until until Tuesday.

Hi ladies. I am very sleepy tired for some reason this morning so I won't reply to too many posts yet. Just wanted to pop on and say,
Yay for the sticker on the car! We don't have one on ours because we are still wanting to trade it in next year.
Hope that someone cancels and appointment so your little guy can get in sooner than that.
I also feel a tie to my grandmother more so than my mother, but my grandmother is still alive and a devout- emphatic christian. But she's very into no chemicals and working in her yard and making things with her hands. Other than the christian aspect, I feel more like her. Even though I get along better with my mom. Lol. Or maybe the same just different ways? Who knows.
And keeping baby Niles in positive thoughts for you. Hoping everything turns out the way its suppose to.

Okay. Off to go take a nap. I've been studying my real estate exam CD.
(Could be why I'm so tired. Lol.) It doesn't flow fast enough for me.

Hi Mamas!

I have been so out of the loop lately. I have spent the last three days at the armoury working...including one 13 hour day...with the princess! Ouch!

We are also (on a side note) on this ttc journey and my chart looks insane. The last two were great...this one, it looked great until a few days ago and now it is all over the map. I'm confused and wish I had someone in real life to turn to about this. The doc refuses to give me a referral to an OB. I plan on visiting our primary midwife Tuesday since she is going on mat leave for the next year So happy for her. Maybe she can have a peek at the chart and see if I'm insane. Not sure if this is related to anything but I've been teary-eyed (to songs like itsy bitsy spider) and nursing has been owies...just doesn't make sense because it doesn't look like I ovulated...maybe I should have posted in cycles camp lol.

I was thinking of all you ladies yesterday when I was walking home mid-morning and saw that there were so few people outside. It is like fall hit and the people are now indoors...turning their focus in...

Personally I am still loving the weather. It is another sunny day but with a cool breeze and the leaves are changing colours...just stunning!

Tonight I leave for another weekend on course. I'm completely exhausted from the lack of sleep and I'm hoping to get a little while I am away from here. Whoever is in my room...well they will hear my thermometer haha. No secrets I suppose :P

s I briefly saw a few things...I hope Roo feels better.

Gun - I hope all goes well with the echo and you get your little one soon! I hope bmom is getting better after the PPH.

Unfortunately they probably have no choice to wait till Tuesday I used to know a few specialists when I was in nursing and they all worked 10hr days, or longer, and the longer the shifts... the more mistakes happen. Someone that's been at work for 12hours and is exhausted is not someone you want evaluating Roo's ticker. Not to trivialize this, but hopefully the fact that they thought it COULD wait till tuesday is a good thing (if they didn't think it could wait you'd be sitting in a paed ward right now). Sending healing energy his way, well what little this busted old body has at the moment You guys have had a bumpy enough road lately, you could do without this!

Heather, usually murmurs are nothing to worry about, so here's hoping it's minor! Hope the issues with the birth father aren't huge

Hubby is off getting his business tax done, bit nervous as it's our first year with a business and we're hoping we have plenty in the tax acct to pay whatever is owed. Should be fine, but that doesn't stop me from worrying lol. After that we are packing overnight bags for Lucas & connor and heading to the grandparents house for a visit. The boys are staying overnight and mum is taking them to swim lessons in the morning before returning them We'll have Quinn, but without the oldest 2 he's cake

Babies!!! Yeah. I look forward to pictures of more (Niles plus the others waiting to emerge).

Holiday Trees - Have you looked into a Norfolk Island Pine. It is a potted plant/tree. Definitely "christmas tree" like - except you see more trunk than most. (Okay, a lot more). I've thought about getting one, but my house doesn't get enough light inside in winter for it to live.

Wedding Rituals - DH and I thought about a handfasting, but decided against it for a few reasons. (One being that our "minister" was a friend for mountain search and rescue and we decided he'd get a kick about tying some ridiculously complicated mtn. climbing knot) We ended up doing a candle lighting ceremony - in part b/c it wasn't terribly pagan and we didn't need to explain anything to our folks about what we were doing. We got 3 lanterns - his, mine and ours. After the ceremony we gave "his" to his mother to take home so we'd always be grounded there. And mine to my folks. We also talked about doing a knotted rug - our lives intertwined are the basis for our home. I think we are going to still do that, probably for our 10th Anniversary (June 2011). A friend had a "brick making ritual" - she and DH brought sand/soil/etc. with them that represented where they'd been in life. They poured them together to make a "brick" that is their foundation to their new life together. (It's now somewhere in their garden.)

I'm still congested. I've decided I'm probably allergic to the babe. I love fall, but mine is almost over I'm afraid. Snow is down below 2000 feet, its raining today and I can't see the mountains - I won't be surprised if they are white to below 500' in the morning. We've had frost on the roof - but I still have blooms on my "hanging" strawberry plant and my lettuce is still alive. Its getting harvested tonight. Anybody know how cold collard greens and kale can take it? I know I can still harvest after 1 or 2 light frosts, but I don't want to push it. I probably still have the equivalent of 12 bunches to harvest so I am trying to avoid pulling it all before I really need to do so. DS is doing better with his teething, but it is due mainly to a diet of frozen blueberries, bananas, cold carrots and tylenol.

BTW - I am a huge carrot fan. I once ate too many while stressed and actually got a bit orange. But after the first frost Alaska carrots are soooo yummy. Our have some of the highest sugar content of any worldwide. I doubt many get shipped out to the rest of the world, but if you ever see them, get them. (I know some are shipped to Japan actually b/c they are pest-free). I got a new variety of purple potato "Misty Magic" - they are almost black inside and stay dark purple even when cooked. We're eating them for dinner tonight. I'm thinking purple potatoes with carrots and collard greens and salmon - it will at least be a really colorful dinner (purple, orange, green and pink). All local food - greens from my garden and salmon we caught, the rest is farmer's market produce.

Cool thoughts to those in the heat. Dry thoughts to the wet & rain. Healing thoughts to the sick and swollen-fingered. And sweet baby thoughts to all - whether they be human babies or project babies or new beginning babies.

We are in cardiac now in school, srsly, just today they told us murmurs in infants are normal. Or at least common. But good to check it out anyway; better safe than sorry I always say. So...it's 9:30 my time, now-- did you find out anything? Hang in there, mama

Passed my lung assessment. Whew. That was hard. I forgot to say I would be assessing breath sounds, but the next class was filing in and I kept getting flustered. Yay she passed me anyway!

grats hun.. breathe sounds can be tricky to 'get'!

DH just called me and his tax is all done and it's great We have more than enough put away to cover it, AND we overestimated our income with the govt, so they will owe US a top up payment (plus the 600per kid payment we get at the end of the financial year anyway!) All of which goes straight into the bank (ok most, we may finally get the boys the kura bed from Ikea we've wanted to get them since last year ) because come December we'll have to start making quarterly tax payments to the govt of about 5k. Kinda irks me to do that, because at the end of our financial year they'll end up having to refund about 5k of that so it's a free loan to them All in all though a fabulous result from the accountant (first year as a business, so we were nervous we hadn't done everything properly!)

Hi everyone! Baby Niles came home with me this afternoon and he's doing ok. The results of the echo didn't come back but the ped doc thinks that there was nothing to worry about and gave us walking papers! There is still some weird drama with the Bdad, but Niles is home with us for now! Court for the bparents will be in about 3 weeks. Pins and needles till then. DD has been utterly terrific w/ the baby and I am so thrilled and proud of her.

DoK hoping that Roo is just fine.

Cold here this morning, I have to turn on the heat. We thought we would be at our new place by winter, not going to happen until spring, and we had our wood delivered there. So today we will be moving wood back over here so we can use the stove this winter.

Going to a fall festival today. I'm allowing Roo to go as long as he doesn't run around, etc. It's pretty chilly today. After a couple mild days, the colder temps are hard to handle.

There are dragonflies everywhere right now. They sometimes fly in swarms. Very odd to see so many.

This morning is nice outside. Really thick marine layer (fog) coming off the ocean and that cools the morning down a lot. I love it. Today is Saturday! I can't believe how fast this week is passying by. We finally bought some fish for our big fish tank yesterday and the kids are loving watching them. I miss having fish also. I am rereading my Birthing Within book and I've got to say. I forgot how beautiful and touching the birthing art pictures she includes in it are. I found Z. Budapest (sp) website last night and was interested in joining her university. Anyone here been through it? Or know much about her? I've heard of her but haven't read anything she's written or any of her interviews or articles. I know, weird huh. I just always skipped over hers for some reason. But now, I feel drawn to her. Is it just because I wasn't ready for her before and somehow now the universe or goddess is saying now is the time?
