September Queer Conceptions - Ready to *FALL* in love w/ our future babes! - Page 5

Just wanted to post to say we are back in the fame and I am currently in the TWW. Test date is 9/24.

I'm feeling like my IUI timing was a little off but I am hoping for the best!
welcome beastie - i and my dp are only on our 2nd cycle now and it's overwhelming in many ways - welcome to your new life broken out in 2 weeks episodes!

afm: i am 8 dpo and got nothin'. not a single anything and usually i have my early pms signs at least. where are those? where is my usualy self loathing and outbreaks on my skin? i would welcome some signs at least!

will try to hold out till friday at least before i test which will be my usual day of or 1 day late.

good luck to all who are waiting...
Lyndzies- Can you please move me to "waiting to know"?

Beastie- welcome!

IUI #2 (we only do one per cycle at a clinic) was on Friday. Had very negative OPK's CD 10, 11, 12, and a VERY positive one on CD 13. The insem was on CD 14. The RE said everything looked good, she even showed DP my cervix because it was super shiny!! I thought my temps indicated O on CD 14 too, but, FF is putting possible O day on CD 13! :

Hoping to not obsess too much this 2ww, now that we on our second maybe it will be a little easier??! Wishful thinking right?
Seems like there's a lot of action going on around here! After taking a month of due to our early loss in August, we're back in the game. My DP had CD1 yesterday, donned the estrogen patches and will be doing a FET in a couple of weeks. That's kind of like waiting to "O" or waiting for FET. Whatever you think, but move us out of "waiting" - anything is better than waiting.

fx for all in the tww.

spcd - Yay! Welcome back to the game. GL to you both!

bttrflygypsy - Hoping your timing was PERFECT-O!!!

jjnoho - We're on the same DPO again. (I got rid of a +opk I recorded that was actually probably negative). Let's be strong together and not drive ourselves crazy by testing early!! FX we'll both be September graduates by the end of next week!!!

elismum1908 - welcome back! I hope the IUI was successful! Why do you feel your timing was off?

Beastie - welcome! I'm glad you've found useful information here. It's certainly been invaluable to me, too. I hope your stay is short!

AFM - temp drop today. Could today be an implantation dip? My bbs have been killing me (still having to wear DPs cup size bigger bra) and all yesterday I was vomiting a little each time I burped. Both signs I had last pg cycle. I'm hoping that today's dip IS implantation, and it's happening two days earlier than it did the cycle I had the chemical. I"m thinking that not having such late implantation as I did last time will be a positive thing. But then again, who knows in this crazy game of TTC. You can never be sure until AF doesn't show her ugly face. :P Even a BFP isn't much to convince me since the chemical. But I'm trying to stay positive!!!

Feel free to chart stalk and tell me what you think. Lol!!!

Lyndzies - Those all seem like such good signs!!

Spcd - Welcome back! You are right, the waiting and the forced time off is the worst...

bttrflygypsy - I hate to break it to you, but this is my 8th cycle (my partner had 9 before a BFP) and they never go easier...Maybe the did for others?

AFM, what the heck? Here is my FF: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/26a831 . My temps were a little wacky pre-o this month. But post O - what the heck?! Honestly last night I was wondering if I was coming down with the swine flu because my temp was so high. This morning I was so uncomfortable I woke up at 4:30 am and temped then because I was ready to get out of bed - 100.2. Seriously? I realize that progesterone can raise one's temps, but mine barely reach the 98s post O on a unmedicated cycle. And as for the swine flu (or any kind of flu ) I feel absolutely fine, besides being achy from the high temp. This is so weird.

I'll second Papa. The NP at my sperm bank says that most OB/GYNs get only a hours in medschool about fertility. Whereas for REs, it's all they do. An RE should be very familiar w PCOS.

Beastie, welcome!

Megincl, will want to hear how your IVF cycle goes!

Lyndzies, you have lots of good signs. My boobs got huge each time before a positive. Fingers are crossed.

Cejae's right, it's hard to not obsess. Our fertility journey has already taken 1 year, and I'm realizing it may take several more. Therefore, I'm trying to take a less month-by-month obsessive perspective. Easy to say, until I start up the daily injections and bi-daily ultrasounds again!

AFM: It was definitely a chemical pregnancy. Low low HCG levels, no rise for a week, then they rose a bit, so we had a little "You need a D&C" scare. Maybe the poor little 'bro botched the implantation, then wouldn't let go? Fortunately, the HCG finally dropped, so the doc is no longer using "scrape" and "your uterus" in the same sentence. Whew. I'm such a wuss.

The good news is, we're starting a brand-new IVF cycle, to harvest some fresh eggies. I have some iffy-grade embryos on ice, but while we still have insurance, we're going to do our damndest to make some pretty 'bros.

Which reminds me, I gotta order some sperms.

Well the Dr that I had been seeing was not very familiar with PCOS at all. But I love to read up about it since it is my body, ya know? Well I basically printed out the papers for her and we reviewed everything together. A lot of people taking Spirolactone (sp?) for High Blood Pressure (I do have) and Metformin (blood sugar issues - have this just a touch) but those to meds on very lose doses and a little exercise seems to be my magic trick. :

I have been exercising and eating right while waiting on this appointment to come and this morning when I got up at 5:30 to get the kids up and ready for school I was cramping something serious. *fingers crossed!* I need AF to show, so anyone that doesnt want it, send it my way!!

Oh I'm so sorry to hear this! It seems like you have a good attitude, though. You are a strong woman. To where shall I move you? I hope the pretty 'bros you're gonna make do the trick... what's the timeline? Do you have to wait?

I will GLADLY send her your way!!!

AFM - still in an OMG BOOBS limbo. Wearing DPs bras cause mine are too uncomfortable and small. Can't sleep on my stomach. Temp back up. Still doing the burp/partial puke thing (I know, lovely). I really really am hoping this is it, cause otherwise, I'll be convinced I'm nuts. Can't wait till Friday/Saturday when AF either shows, or I get my BFP. I really hope I'm not one of those women who has to be in pregnancy purgatory, w/ no AF and no BFP. That's gotta be the worst place ever (or at least, so I remember, from my annovulatory cycle).
Astropeep - Hang in there! You do sound like you have a great attitude, I agree.

I also think it's a great plan to stash some embryos while you can get someone else to foot the bill and get the best embryos you can.

AFM - Donor boy's STD tests came back today, all clear. The only potential complication is I have to be out of town on family business from Friday noon through Sunday late, late, late, so I'd better either hurry up and O before Friday, or it better all hold off 'til next week, but I think I'm starting my very slow gear up to O and I'll probably O over the weekend. Grrrrrrrr!

And I took pee to school/work today in my lunch box because I had to be out of the house during my whole testing window for the clearblue monitor. Ah, the things we do....packing a jar with a couple of ounces of pee in it is weird, but, sadly, I don't think it's even the weirdest.
FTMpapa - stranger than packing a jar of pee is that you packed in your lunch Best of luck this cycle! I hope the timing works perfectly.

astropeep - I'm glad you were able to avoid the D&C - a small consolation, I'm sure. I have a feeling your baby is in this upcoming batch of embryos. FX.
PF - how do you know what I packed in my lunch? I think oatmeal and a smoothee for lunch/breakfast is perfect!

The monitor still reads low this morning - if it can just stay low through Thursday, I should be Ok to go away this weekend. Today is CD 14, and it's unusual for me to be hoping to delay O, but since I don't usually O until around CD 20, I'm just askin' for a couple more days!

you can have all of mine! here's hoping it doesn't come.

i am 11 dpo and not feeling particularly impatient to test. i'm feeling like i could wait for awhile to test - we'll see i guess. i am still a few days away from actually being time for AF but for now the temps remain up.

lyndzies: you had a great way of describing your symptoms of the (gross) burping process - i have been having that almost daily (which is not typical for me) but didn't even think of it as a possible pregnancy sign. how to tow the line between identifiying and not fabricating signs is not easy!

I started feeling a little impatient this morning, but I'm trying to push it aside. There's not reason to get so disappointed before the witch is even here, or to waste money. I keep trying to remind myself that most women don't get their BFP till 14 dpo anyhow. My eye is on the prize. No testing till Saturday!!! (I hope!).

Yeah, the partial burp/puke thing isn't typical for me, either, though i had it during my LP in my June BFP cycle. So that's why I'm feeling good about it. Well, as "good" as you can feel about throwing up in your mouth.

Hi All,

Astropeep -- I'm so sorry about the chemical but am glad insurance is covering you for a fresh cycle! Any sense when you'll get to start?

Papa -- pee in the lunch....after all this time, not much from you surprises me!

Lyndzies -- wahoo for the symptoms!

JJ -- may the wait-to-test feeling continue! and bring with it good news.

afu, katie is on day 8 of birth control (!) for the ivf protocol. it's funny to me that she's on birth control. for many reasons. our donor is in town, we've all seen the social worker (ivf doc requirement), he's done one donation and does a second on thursday. then we should be ready to move into the more intense drug part of the cycle. yippee? i'm so glad we're actually moving along somewhere now.

be well all,
megin

Megin - great to hear you guys are moving along!!

Here's a weird pee story for you guys:
When we first started trying, DW had a different job than she has now (actually, we're now two jobs later, hers tend to last two years or so). She used to POAS at work as she was there all day, and in one of our first cycles she got a little excited with the camera and took pictures of the Pos OPK.
Fast forward a few years and we came across this random picture of pee in a cup and a stick, sitting on a counter that we did NOT recognize! It took us HOURS to remember where in the world she had been that she peed in a cup, tested with a stick, and then put it all out on the counter to take a picture!!
I swear, that woman will document ANYTHING with a photo!

Hi all, and thanks for the warm welcomes. We're excited to be here, and we hope it'll be a short stay. Still, the company is pretty nice.

I'm still learning everyone's status, but I'll try to comment:

Astropeep: hooray for a new (and insurance funded) approach! how exciting to be moving forward in a positive direction!

FTMPapa: Pee in your lunch seems like a logical (if not appetizing) strategy. Plus, it has the potential to be part of a great conception story...

Lyndzies: those symptoms and that chart seem pretty promising. Thinking of you in the next few days!

JJNoho: How calm you are! I hope that you stay patient right up until you get great news!

Megin: Congrats on entering the next phase!

Over here, I'm on CD9. Sperm arrives by mail tomorrow, and DP gets home from a trip late on Friday. The idea is to inseminate on Saturday and Sunday (or maybe Sunday and Monday, depending on how things look), but since it's our first cycle I can't help waiting for a surprise. This morning, for instance, I had a very light OPK+, way earlier than planned. Since it was faint, and doesn't line up with any other symptoms (temp, cf), I'm going to test again later to see if it was a fluke? Chart is here, for anyone interested in making a guess....http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/251486

Beastie - Thanks for the thoughts and good vibes! I need them. I'm freaking out a teeny bit over here, but trying to remain calm and stick to my decision not to test till AF is a no-show!

As for your OPK, keep in mind that an OPK is not positive unless the test line is DARKER THAN or AS DARK AS the control line. It's not the same as an HPT where "a line is a line." Some women are able to see a darkening pattern up until the day they get their surge, so I say keep testing until you get a true positive.

As an example, here's some of my OPKs from my BFP cycle.

http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c4.../opks2copy.jpg

As you see, even though the first one CD 14 ALMOST looks positive, I didn't get a true positive till CD 15.

I hope this helps! GL w/ your first try. Timing is always a bear! As I've said here before, I personally think waiting to O is more stressful than waiting to know!

Thanks, Lyndzies! I know that you're right, and the picture was especially helpful. It's good to know that my body's on track, even if my mind is a little overexcited. I'm going to do my best to stop obsessing and handle a long day at work. I'll let you all know when I get that true OPK+.
