We *may* be relocating to Melb from Malaysia for DH's job and first thing on my mind is schools for my 3.5 yr old.... (we also have a 6 mo old)

We will be there in November so I hope to look around a but while we are there for two weeks....you know look at schools/neighborhoods, etc.....

DH will be working near Flinders St Station.

I have read through the posts in this tribe (they don't go back very far anymore-- what's up with that?) and am going to look into Melb Montessori (which is in caulfield or brighton-- what are these neighborhoods like?) and Melb Montessori Early Ed. Centre in Brunswick (what is this area like?)

DH would like an easy rail/bus/bike commute. We have no idea what our budget will be, but I would say average???

Are there mom & me exercise places anywhere in these neighborhoods or health food stores?

What about living downtown, near DH's work-- this would mean a drive for me to get M to school but I wouldn't mind. Would you live downtown with 2 kids? (we wouldn't mind a condo type place if we were downtown)

I have many other questions, but thought I would get this off as soon as I could, as I'm likely to get called to the family bed any minute now by either of those boys
